Birch Bay State Park, Blaine, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

October 29-30. Last minute end of the season trip for us. Did not make reservations. Very few campers here although the summer season is another story. Year round camping at this State Park. Good water and power. Good Verizon cell and Verizon MIFI signal. Restrooms have been remodeled since the 2011 review as the showers are now huge. (50 cents/3 minutes) Inside part of the loop has power and water. The outside of the loop has none. Short walk to the beach. No cable but was able to tune into several Canadian/Canadien TV channels with the antenna. We will be back. We camped at Birch Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Barview Jetty Park, Rockaway Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

October 6- This County campground from what I have heard and seen has had a lot of improvements made to it over the years. But the row we were given needs work. Gravel site was not level. Electrical box was hanging loose. (I did report it on the way out.) Backed up butt to butt against the other row behind us with the other RV's rear living room window looking into our rear bedroom window. As for the positives... it has the hugest playground slide I have ever seen. Close to the ocean beach. Clean. We camped at Barview Jetty Park in a Motorhome.

October 7- Nice, quiet older State park just south of Olympia. RV's has two options; gravel sites in the trees or paved site in the field. Good power and water. Clean restrooms and showers take tokens. Good Verizon and MIFI signal. Lots of trails to walk. Sewer dump is on the way out of the Park. We camped at Millersylvania State Park in a Motorhome.

October 5- Nice quiet Oregon State Park. When parked the trees made you feel as if you were the only one there. Clean restrooms and showers. One compactor/dumpster near the check in booth for garbage. We camped at William M. Tugman State Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

VERY nice campground. I wish all campgrounds had it together as well as this one did. Easy check in. Paved roads and level concrete pads. Each site seemed to have its own shade tree. Pool and hot tub. Several washers and dryers ready for use. Close to I-5 but very little road noise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dockweiler RV Park, Playa del Rey, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

October 1-2: Easy access from I-105. (Freeway ends and there is the park) No problems checking in. Full hookups with picnic table and grill. Sewer and water setup on right top of each other. Right on the Pacific Ocean beach. Park is located at the end of LAX airport runway with every jet takeoff a memorable moment. I hold the firm conviction that anyone who has stayed here will never complain about train whistles or road noise at a campground again. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

September 28- This place is truly an oasis in the desert for a weary traveler. Trees, well maintained lawns and grounds. Level sites. A large dog exercise area. Rec room with a big screen tv and a Foosball table. Clean individual bathrooms with showers. They provided $2 discount coupons to the Meteor Crater just a few miles to the south of the RV park. .05 discount/gallon on fuel for your rig. We would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

September 29- This KOA campground is the most kid oriented KOA I've ever seen. Mini golf, a giant bouncy thing. (I even tried it.) A spot to "mine" for minerals. There was even a go cart track. (Don't know if this was free and if there was an added cost for it.) Arcade games in the game room. Quick and easy check in. We were escorted to our site. Our site was fairly level. Lots of pine trees abound. We had a site closest to the road but it did not bother us. Breakfast and dinners available for purchase. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Nice dog area with ramps for the dogs. (Ours wasn't able to understand the purpose of the ramps even after I explained and demonstrated.) A bit pricey for what I am used to paying but we would stay here again. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Motorhome.

Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

September 24 &25- Campground provided what we needed as a place to stay. But...to start it has no sign on the road to let you know where to turn. As others have mentioned you need to watch for a sign to the business next to it. Shower stalls are small. Very small. TP was of the narrow width variety. Washer and dryers were in the bathrooms. The power outlet at our site had no breaker and was within one foot of the ground and right next to the water hookup. The playground equipment is something out of the early 1960's and needs to be replaced. It was hard to tell where the tent camping ended and the so called dog walk began. Wifi worked for us but spoke with another RVer who walking around with her laptop looking for reception. Watch for tree overhang if you are using the pull through site with a bigger rig. On the plus side the bus stop to downtown Santa Fe is right next to the camp and ran every 15 minutes. Site was reasonably level. We had a new picnic table. We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

September 27- Easy access from I-40. We had no reservation. Check in was quick and easy with no problems. Sites are of red gravel. It was interesting to watch during a downpour the water coming down the roads yet the sites I saw were high and dry. GREAT barbecue dinner provided for RV'ers at a fair price. Cable was $2 extra but we had more than enough stations to watch over the antenna to keep us amused. (Found the Comet Channel. It seems to be old, bad Sci-Fi movies.) Restrooms and showers clean. Good size shower stalls. Somebody must have needed our picnic table more than us as it was missing. We would stay here again. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park, San Antonio, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

September 26- Adequate camp for what we needed for the night. Check in is whenever the owner shows up to meet you at the site you've chosen. Single stall men and women restroom. One of the spools laying around worked good as a platform to do some work on the side of my RV. We camped at Bosque Birdwatchers RV Park in a Motorhome.

September 21- $86 for two people including a $10 dog fee. This includes use of the three hot pools and sauna as well as breakfast in the morning. Clean restrooms and showers. I was unaware of the free wifi until I saw the sign for it during breakfast. After several days of travel this was a welcome place to stop and relax.
