Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Keystone Lake, Mannford, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at F2 a host site because it was available. Very fancy stained concrete pad, with shade tree, and full hook ups. Price includes park admission for 2 adults and 2 children. Any additional guests you must purchase a day admission of $17. Pool with slides, basketball, volleyball, splash pad, and toddler swim area. Wibit play area across from pool in the lake. Pool and Wibit have hours in which you can play. Lots of construction taking place near pool area so I'd expect more things to come. Only reason I gave the park a 7 was due to the train that runs a few feet from the parks entrance. It runs about every hour. The park was quiet with the exception of the train. I plan to return every year. We camped at Yogi Bears Jellystone Park at Keystone Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Turner Falls Park, Davis, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a must see. From the falls the water cascades down through the entire park. The paths you walk on and the roads you drive on has water going across. Please call ahead to make sure the park isn't closed due to flooding. You can swim in the falls but not under them. The cascades empty into Blue Hole which has a diving board and slide. Water is everywhere and it's breathtaking. The path to the waterfall is ADA accessible but everything else you'll need to traverse across slippery rocks, uneven ground, or water. The park has 2 castles along the path going towards the falls and you must climb many stairs to reach them. Many hiking trails. Davis Police have a heavy presence in the park. Lots of trashcans but we witnessed folks tossing stuff on the ground. Trash was pretty much everywhere. Not really an issue due to lack of upkeep but inconsiderate guests. No one under the age of 13 years old is permitted to even put a toe in the water without a Coastguard Certified Lifevest. The police strictly enforce this safety measure and you can expect a ticket. As for the campground itself our site was clean and quiet. Sites are sold by first come first serve. We had water and electricity hookups with a dump station nearby and dumpsters too. Sites are not numbered. The grass was really tall at our campsite and our camper trailer was longer than all of the RV pads. No shade trees so you get full full sun during all daylight hours. Arbuckle Fried Pies and Smokin Joe's is just down the road from the park and I recommend both. We camped at Turner Falls Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maumelle COE, Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

It was a little different experience in that anyone could freely move in and out of the campground without notice. I just expected something with a little more security since Little Rock is a metro area. The canopy of trees was nice for shade. The campground is very quiet. My kids loved the playground and riding their bikes. I would have enjoyed having a site along the river for the beautiful view. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This park has received my first perfect score. A campground with nearly 500 campsites I expected it to be loud but instead was very quiet. We had a pull through site which was pretty genius the way it was set up. The back of our camper was to the road and the front was private with vegetation growth. The picnic table was wore completely out so I would plan to bring a table cloth and blankets to sit on. You'll need to drive to the beach but the state park provides plenty of parking. You'll receive a pier pass for everyone in your camper. The pier is where you can fish, walk, eat, and has bathroom facilities. Laundry facilities were clean. The pool was refreshing. Showers were the best I've ever used. When you enter the campground you'll notice parking to your immediate left. The park has built beautiful decking all the the way to the lake and across. We even saw a 14-16 alligator along the lake's edge. The park attendants were nice and helpful. We plan to return to this campground in the future. We camped in a travel trailer. Lake Chicot State Park, Lake Village, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Our site backed right up to the dock. Numerous lakeside sites with beautiful views. The road is a little narrow and we had to drive in the grass to back into our site. The little bit of inconvenience is worth the gorgeous beauty. Cypress tress growing in the lake, sunsets, and green spaces. Warning: GPS made us turn just as we crossed the Mississippi River into Arkansas. Don't turn there. Gravel roads turns into a cow pasture. Turn around. The actual road you should take is paved and you'll have beautiful views of Lake Chicot all the way to the state park. I would love to return. We camped in a travel trailer. Horseshoe Bend COE, Rogers, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We camp at Horseshoe Bend monthly. We love the walk up sites with views of the lake. Great fishing on Beaver Lake, playground for the kids, and pet friendly. Holidays usually sell out months in advance. Holidays have been very noisy and partiers seem to go all night. If you like something quieter look at site 96 it's by itself. Showers and bathrooms are clean but haven't been updated in many years. Also not enough bathhouses for the number of guests. Four showers all together. Parking lot near swimbeach, some lifevest are available, and sand for the kids to build castles. Tent sites available right along the water. Some of the sites have been updated recently and some have pads that are crumbling. Not many have water on site. None have sewage. The peninsula is nice for the kayakers because of the nice shoreline to launch. The main lake is non stop boat traffic. This is a place you can build family memories, play with the kids, fellowship with friends, and throw sticks for the dogs to fetch. Deer are everywhere so enjoy the wildlife. Monte Ne Chicken is the best. We camped in a travel trailer. We camped at Horseshoe Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.
