Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground, Slade, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself is beautiful and the access to the hiking trails and the sky lift to Natural Bridge and Lover's Leap is very convenient. But the section of the campground we were in, site B023, was not a good experience . The pull thrus are very close together, there is not even enough room for a 30 foot camper and a tow vehicle. Camping next to inconsiderate campers in such close quarters is not fun. There are cars parked all over the campsites and you feel like you are camping in a parking lot. It doesn't help that the one vehicle per site rule is not enforced. The odd sites are even worse than the even sites as there are utilities for 2 sites taking up a great deal of space. I would not return unless I could get a site on the other side of the campground which is on the other side of a small stream and has more space per site. We camped at Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We just wanted a campground to stay at on our way back from Door County Wisconsin so that we could go into downtown Chicago a couple of days. First of all, the campground is not very close to Chicago. I was told it was 15-20 minutes to Crystal Lake train station and it was 30 minutes minimum. The train ride into the city is 83 minutes. Our site was supposed to be wooded, but it was not even shaded. The hookups for the adjacent site, including the sewage, were in the middle of our site, which was already very narrow. There is a huge mosquito problem, I doubt they use any insect control. The showers and bathrooms were even full of biting mosquitoes. The showers were clean otherwise, and hot. But, on Saturday morning we walked up to the shower house to find all the door locks saying occupied, so thinking they were occupied, we waited for our turn. We got tired of waiting and walked up to the main building, only to find out that the doors were locked because they ran out of propane but didn't bother to post an out of order or closed sign. Not very impressed with this campground, it barely served its purpose. I would not return. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Egg Harbor Campground, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We thought this was a great campground. Our site was spacious and wooded. The shower and bathrooms were very nice and very clean. Pool was nice. Staff was very helpful, they deliver firewood and ice to your site. It was like camping in a state park but with all the amenities of a private park. We camped at Egg Harbor Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ohiopyle State Park, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Great park and campground. Whitewater rafting, great bike trail, and great hiking trails a very short drive away. Staff is friendly. Campground is peaceful and very scenic. Bathrooms were a bit buggy, but overall they were average for a state park. We camped at Ohiopyle State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rocky Gap State Park, Flintstone, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $30.00

Park and campgrounds are beautiful. We stayed in the electric loop and had a pull-thru site which was very spacious and private. The only negative was that the bathroom and shower house in our loop was not very clean. We camped at Rocky Gap State Park in a Travel Trailer.
