Okefenokee Pastimes Camping, Folkston, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Owners making improvements. Staff extremely helpful: led me to site, gave local information. Laundry was in a storage shed and equipment was old but did the job. Across the highway from Okefenokee main entrance. We camped at Okefenokee Pastimes Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Okefenokee is worth the visit. Have historical homestead deep in swamp that is representative of difficult life. Folkston is quaint town with train history and good Okefenokee restaurant with the service and food you would expect from a southern small town.

Tips for other Campers:

Take advantage of tour bus service in St Augustine. Wonderful history and tour guides/drivers are local. Many free sites to visit. Can use tour bus ticket as local transportation once you are in the city. Great restuarants. Harry's was my favorite. Missed Flagler and Fort tours so will take those in on my next trip. Did take the distillery and winery tours. Per night rate of $50 is with taxes.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Pros Awesome potential. Long concrete pad. Excellent service. Friendly and helpful staff..!! Large, heated pool and hot tub. Been open less than one year. $10 shuttle to and from Savannah. Fire pit and concrete patio. All paved roads. Had entertainment Friday night that I stayed. Cons Concrete pad is width of rig so if you cannot line up with the patio you step onto ground (soggy because of all the rain). Could not line up class c with patio due to location of hook-ups even with sewer extension. Cable tv not available to all sites..... yet. Limited camp store. Note: $61 a night was with all taxes and Good Sam discount. "8" rating takes in to account the potential of this park. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the shuttle into Savannah. Tour buses leave Savannah visitors center on regular basis and provide a narrative of local history and sites. Allows on and off at regular stops. The ticket is good for three days and the tour bus can provide transportation around the city.

Travelers Rest / N. Greenville KOA , Travelers Rest, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Awesome experience. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Owner led me to my site and then loaned me blocks to adjust level (from now on I will carry my own because don't think all parks will be as caring) and both owners made suggestions where appropriate. Nice with picnic table on concrete pad. Fire pit on site. We camped at Travelers Rest / N. Greenville KOA in a Motorhome.
