Because major renovations are now underway, this beautiful 180 site campground is not up to its full potential. Having camped here for decades, our family has returned year after year to enjoy large meadow sites for tents & RV's as well as tent sites in the wooded loops. The lovely Culhane Brook runs midway through the campground, the Peabody River runs alongside for swimming and fishing and the views of Mt. Madison and The Imp are worth waking up to every morning. Sites vary in size from large for family gatherings to smaller ones perfect for hikers or motorcycle riders needing a 'bed' for the night. All sites have sturdy picnic tables with fire pits and firewood and ice are available for sale. Most sites are separated from one another by wooded areas that enhance the wilderness experience. The current staff is friendly and extremely helpful. They appear to work very hard to keep the sites and facilities neat and clean. With the anticipation of newly paved roads, showering facilities, hookups and dumping station, campers will be treated to the best place to relax and enjoy all that the White Mountains has to offer as my family has done for generations. We camped at White Mountain Nat'l Forest / Dolly Copp Campground in a Travel Trailer.
