Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley, White Sulphur Springs, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the park in our toy hauler, 36' pulled by a crew cab long bed Ram and had plenty of room in our pull through. Level sight, perfect hook ups. Fishing pond was there but no fish due to a problem last year, so no fishing. Awesome views and for a change no trains going by the park. The town stores are close enough to walk to and the hot springs at the hotel can be used as a guest for a very reasonable price. We drove out into the mountains and enjoyed a walk through a real ghost town. It is on private property so you need to get permission to enter before heading out. Check in was quick and easy and there are no crazy rules at the park. I was there with my 9 year old. We rode bikes and walked around a bit. The area near the park is a lower income area but the people were very friendly as we walked around, not bad people at all, just lower income. I would stay at this park anytime I am in the area. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Travel Trailer.

Hart Ranch Camping Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stay at this park in two years. We planned on staying here again based off our experience a year ago which should tell you a lot about the park. Large concrete pads, perfect power/water/sewer connections. Awesome staff that is very friendly. The park is designed as a member park and much of the way it is ran is designed with that in mind. Even so staying as a guest was great both trips. Fuel is the same price as it is in town. The store has nearly everything we needed. It is close to all the sites to see. I would highly recommend this park to anyone. We had no problems with anything at the park or the park workers. The members of the park are a bit rude as they are park members which we did see both years. I suppose that happens when you are a member but it was not needed. We camped at Hart Ranch Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Crazy Horse (Overpriced and not complete) Badlands( Awesome work by the park rangers doing presentations, make sure you get to one) Minute Man Museum (Lot's of information here and even a lot on Russia) Black Hills? (No idea what the draw is) Sturgis (If your a Harley fan it is a must. We stopped at the McDonnalds for our highlight! lol)

Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf, Park City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site B-8 which had a concrete pad and I would not have needed to disconnect but we did to travel. The site has a nice concrete pad and all three connections were very convenient to the back of the trailer. We were close to the neighbors but they were very nice. Our awnings missed by about three feet so we had room. The pool was nice and warm and clean. We went to the game room/club house and relaxed for a bit and it is a bit out dated but comfortable and very clean. The park staff were all great and gave me a ride to the garbage dump area and to the laundry. As has been stated earlier it is not obvious you need to check in at the office which is on the opposite side of the main road before you enter the park. The office is directly across the from the park driveway. They used the golf cart and took me over to get paid for out trip. It is very convenient to Mammoth Cave and several others. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf in a Travel Trailer.

Mammoth Caves. The 4 hour tour states it is super hard and stressing. It was not for me nor my 9 year old boy.

Lost Valley Lake, Owensville, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

It appears to me that they are working very hard to make improvements to the facility. The new pool wasn't ready just yet but it looks awesome! My boy loved the bounce bag that was in the ground outside the indoor pool. The bike trails were great and the help from the staff when we showed up late at night was great. They brought me in and two people helped me back into our site. They were not in any hurry and were there to make sure I was happy and everything was working great. We went into the club house and looked around and there is a lot to do in there! For us the fishing was the kicker. My niece and her husband and great nephew came to visit and we took them fishing. We showed the boys how to fish and they caught large mouth bass, crappie, search and catfish in the same spot on worms which was great. This place is definitely on my list to come back to. We camped at Lost Valley Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Creekside RV Park and Campground, Chappell, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We only spent the night at the park but was very easy to get in and get out of. There were a lot of comments on the trains but after I laid down I never heard them overnight. I could hear them when I was awake but it was not that bad. The person that checked us in was great and he had us just pull along side a bunch of back in sites and plug in for the night. It was perfect for us and we didn't even need to level the trailer as the area was perfectly flat. I do need to mention the water as it was great!!! We live in Oregon on a well and are use to chorine free water and this water was the same. No strange tastes! I would recommend this park to anyone traveling. Lagoon RV Park and Campground, Farmington, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second time staying at this park. Both times we stayed in the premium sites which have concrete pads and a nice grassy area with a picnic table to use. Plenty of room between sites. We saw some family groups pull their campers in opposing on two sites and set up a great family area between them. The sites are perfectly level and 30/50 amp power. So glad for the trees as it was 96 yesterday and in the evening the trees blocked the setting sun to cool the trailer down. We are in a 36 foot bumper pull toy hauler with a mega-cab long bed truck and did not have to disconnect and have some extra room. The park is awesome next door and there is an exit from the park right at our trailer. You must walk back to the front to get back in but not paying park prices for food and drinks makes the camping here almost free!!! Check in was great and quick and you get park discounts for camping here in addition you can get your park passes at the front office and not wait in line at the park ticket window. There is a paved bike/walking trail that goes past the south end of the park and you can enjoy a great bike ride there. There is no WIFI but Verizon is full LTE with no problems. There are cheaper sites with grass pads and they seem to be standard to what we see everywhere else we have stayed. We will stay here every time we visit the park as it is so convenient. We camped at Lagoon RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wacky West Travel Park, Valentine, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

For my family this is the best park we have stayed in since we began our summer vacation 3 weeks ago. Pull through with plenty of room and my total length is 59 feet truck and trailer. The sites are flat so I didn't have to do any leveling. The site is gravel but clean. I wasn't hit with a bunch of rules when I arrived and my boys, 12 and 8, played outside and did not get into any trouble for the first time. We have a nice shade tree on the south east which is very nice with a picnic table. The manager is a first rate person with a heart of gold. WIFI here is the best we have been able to get anywhere on the trip. We are staying two nights as I always have a down day between travel days. It is super quiet here so my 12 year old slept till 10:30 and my 8 year old is still sleeping at 11! I highly recommend this park if you don't need the park to provide everything for you. Grocery store across the street and the theater is beside the park. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fishing pond for kids at the end of town. Bike trail runs right past the park and goes for 220 miles. A few miles out of town it goes over the river @150feet above the water. Easy access to the park.

Sheffield RV & Camping, Rexburg, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in a 34' toy hauler. We were put on a spot with the power/water opposite our connections. The site had no sewer connection. There were sites we could have moved to the next day with full connections but I won't move once put in.

This may be good for a stop over but there is nothing to do at the park and the kids (two boys 8 &12) had nothing to do there but play with the neighbor's dog.

A few full time people at the park. The staff is very friendly and helpful and will do everything to help a person out. We stayed here for 4 nights visiting national monuments and parks around the area. Rexburg is about 4 miles away and has everything a person needs for supplies/repair and entertainment. We camped at Sheffield RV & Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

My boys enjoyed EBR-1 Nuclear Museum, the best of all the places we visited. It was my second at the museum. Craters of the Moon is also pretty cool with cave walks. YellowStone is 1.5 hours drive which was not bad.

Maps on my iPhone was off on the directions but we could see the park from highway 20 and navigated to it just fine.
