Fairview Riverside State Park, Madisonville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground. Our spot, #77, was in the new loop and had a view of the river. We were near the bathhouse, dumpster and dump station (but did not have any foul odors!). We've learned the hard way that it's best to either call the campground or take a recon trip if closeby to determine the best way in and out. The staff are exceptionally helpful. Hint: If you have a large rig (0urs is 40') do not take hwy 21 or 1077 off of I-12. Instead, take exit 47 off of I-12, go south on hwy 445 then turn left at the T, you'll be about 9-10 miles from the campground then but it's a straight shot with a wider road and less trees. The bathhouse was updated and it was kept immaculately clean! Even the shower curtains were clean - no mildew! Our weekend was quiet and relaxing. Easy bicycle riding throughout the small park. Shade trees and pleasant breezes. We had satellite reception and over the air reception. Also At&T reception. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Lots to see and do in Madisonville and Covington and close to New Orleans. We had dinner at Half Shell Oyster House in Covington - yummy! Piggly Wiggly less than 3 miles from the campground is small but very convenient and had a large selection of spirits.

Paul B. Johnson State Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful weekend at this park. Weather a bit uncooperative and caused power outage to park and nearby town but park rangers came by every campsite to let us know status and we got power back sooner than the 45 minute time frame they'd predicted. Park was clean but bathrooms are dated and non air-conditioned. Because of this the odor in the Bathroom is he reason I only gave 4 stars for cleanliness. Check in process very quick. Nice welcome center. We camped at Paul B. Johnson State Park in a Motorhome.

Spot 81 grade was lower at rear of pad than front. Faucet at passenger rear corner and will need at least 25' hose To connect. Great place to ride our bicycles. Some his but otherwise easy ride. Very pretty park and lake. We envied the people on jet skis!

Reunion Lake RV Resort, Ponchatoula, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Top notch RV park with many water amenities. Pools, hot tub and lazy river are included in nightly rate. Lake activities requires additional bracelet with fee but our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed these features! Everyone on the staff that we encountered were very helpful and nice. I love that they do NOT allow day visitors into the park unless they are with a registered camper. And, even then, there are limitations. We were adjacent to the mini golf/basketball/pickle ball courts and had no issues with noise or crowds as everyone was either in the pools or lake. The bathhouse is clean, climate controlled and has private showers with lavatory and toilet in each room. Great idea! Great place for families and we've already booked our 2019 family weekend! We camped at Reunion Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Columbus-Belmont State Park, Columbus, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful park where you can sit back and enjoy nature with a water view then this is your spot. We wanted water view, shady and 50 amp with water and sewer connections. This hit all of these marks plus our spot had a swing facing the Mississippi! Heaven! The camp hosts came by to see if we needed anything. They were very friendly and made "rounds" every day. When I asked to buy ice he even brought it to our site! How thoughtful. This was a beautiful spot to spend a few days. The sounds or nature, breeze and plenty of shade made it perfect! We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Musicland Kampground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in our RV for a week. We Had a pull in RV spot and atgough it was a tight turn for our 40' MH to get to the spot it worked Out great for us. It was much easier to get out of this spot since we went another route within the park to exit. It's easy to understand why they want t escort you into this park now that we've been there. The property is terraced both by rows and RV spots within the row. Neat place. We had some shade in spot 42 and great Satelite abs antenna reception. The spots are close Together but we explored the area and saw some shows while there so it wasn't a problem. Everyone in the office was helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again. Cabins for someone without an RV would work very nice too. We camped at Musicland Kampground in a Motorhome.

Burns Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We used the address listed on this site and on RV trip wizard (84 arlene laman) and although we did get to the Burn Park (which is very large and multiactivities...) and went the wrong way to get to the RV park. Lesson learned! We will now call and speak to someone at the park for specific directions. We went down narrow park roads, near baseball fields, softball fields, soccer fields, etc. which had nice views but low hanging branches and drug on our 40' MH roof many times. OUCH! Once we found the RV park, thanks to the camp host, it was very nice. Our nice level pull thru spot wasn't available though and we went to spot 28. No sewer but did have 50 amp and water. This spot was very, very tight quarters for a 40' MH that had to be backed in. Multiple trees were a challenge. The bath house was nearby and was clean however I found the water pressure similar to what we have in the MH. if your TT or MH is 32' or less you probably will not have problems. We won't return since our 40' MH is too large for this park. But, if you're looking for nature, this is your spot! We camped at Burns Park in a Motorhome.

Hoover RV Park, Hoover, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

we camped here for SEC Baseball Championship tournament. The cost was for the session which was 9 days/8 nights. No discount available. The campground manager was available when needed and was very personable and helpful. the site had full hookups, asphault lot (not much grass) and minimal trees. But, hey, we were here for the ballgames. Ideal place to camp for this tournament! Very close to shopping and restaurants. We camped at Hoover RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Ouachita State Park, Mountain Pine, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Our spot, #54 in loop C, was right on the lake edge. However, a tree prevented us from opening our awning. The site was easy to back into and included a fire ring, picnic table and BBQ pit. The lake views were amazing and so peaceful. Quiet and restful. We rented a car in Hot Springs to tour the area around this park. We camped at Lake Ouachita State Park in a Motorhome.

Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE, Enid, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This lake and park is absolutely gorgeous! We stopped for only one night during our trip to east Arkansas. There is an 8' concrete picnic table, charcoal grill with round cement table near it to use for your BBQ tools. There is a fire pit with firewood stacked nearby. Lake views are beautiful.

Please note. RV trip wizard was directing us to I-55, exit 227, then to CR 35, etc. These directions would've taken us to George Cossar State Park. Thankfully, we used the directions on the Persimmon Lake COE website. I-55, exit 233, east on 36, then right on 39 (Enid Dam Rd), then left on 34. Then follow signs into campground. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

Lakeview Park and Beach, Eunice, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here since we had a family function nearby. Because it was a quiet weekend for the park (i.e. no bands or other events) we were allowed to stay just one night. Staff was great when I called to make the reservations. No online booking here but a quick email or phone call make it very easy to book. Our spot (252) was level and easy to pull into. It was raining so we don't know about shade. We camped at Lakeview Park and Beach in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana, Woodworth, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here in a premium single pull thru (two pull thru's back to back in an arced drive) which was perfect to camp with our friends. We were in spots 83 and 84. The view of the lake was thru the trees but no other campsites between us and the lake edge. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, even with showers each day. This campground is not a Louisiana State Park but part of Louisiana Department of Forestry, hence, lots and lots of trees. We had a large tree right next to our pad so there were many roots at ground level. Some slope to the area but not a big drop off. We were about 50 yards from the lake edge with a small playground area between us and the lake. Perfect for families with small children. We didn't have a tow vehicle but would have had room for one on our pad. Easy to get in and out of our spot, even in our 40' Class A MH. Only drawback was no sewer hookup. They do have two dump stations within the park though. We camped at Indian Creek Recreation Area Louisiana in a Motorhome.

Percy Quin State Park, Mccomb, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in spot 44, which had full hookup for sewer, water and up to 50 amps. We have a 40' RV. Shade both morning and afternoon, but not full shade all day. Good, level spot that was fairly easy to back in to. We could see the lake through the trees. Quiet, peaceful area. Right across from bathroom and showers that were super clean and air conditioned. The trash dumpster was only about 50 yards away. Access roads into park are two lanes but narrow with many areas having no shoulders. Once we were in the RV area there were one way narrow lanes but this spot was easy access in and out. I had called before we left and talked to staff in the office (super nice) and she assured me we could get in and out with our large Class A motor home. This was extremely helpful and made us feel better about going to this site. We didn't have a tow vehicle but if we would have there would have been just enough room on the asphalt pad or we could have parked in the grass. This is a corner spot so we had extra room on our passenger side which was a plus. We camped at Percy Quin State Park in a Motorhome.
