Little Buffalo State Park, Newport, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Our spot was not big rig friendly, even though a pull thru 50ft . In order to have more space between the road and your door, you need to be up close to the trees, however, makes it difficult to level with the drop off. Need 6"-8" blocks for front stabilizers. Watch being to close to the trees if you have driver side bump outs, be aware there are trees and foliage on that side. W/E in the middle of the site, double check you have enough line to hook up. #1 Host site, #3 difficult for long rigs to back in due to hill on other side of the road 5 & 6 are right on top of each other if your with friends perfect. #6 best to go in opposite direction to park, #22 very close to the road. 7-13,34, 36 going down/up a steep hill, hence leveling blocks needed. 40 floods. 8, 22,24,38 all pull thru and all face the road. 24/38 at least have some foliage between your door and the road. 42/43 FULL SUN, paved FHU spots, near bathhouse. We camped at Little Buffalo State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Found where people let their kids play only level grassy spot/ride bikes due to paved areas. We heard others enjoyed the pool - $4/ each camper and they have a record of who is camping to get the discount. Weis Food Store - Newport, clean and Brother's Pizza - Newport great food (FF not as big as they said they are though). Heard the Red Rabbit on 22/322 open only on weekends is excellent.

Pocomoke River State Park, Snow Hill, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Some spots are extremely difficult maneuver without taking off a mirror or 2. Need bungie cord to keep power box closed since it opens sideways. Not great for bad weather storms to open the way it did. Unable to fit in the dump station, had to go over to Shad Landing. Someone needs to go thru there and take down trees that are right on the road to get around the campground. Not for larger vehicles....we were 34 ft 5th wheel, F350 long bed....definitely needs some tree removal done. Some tenting spots appeared to be right on the next persons spot. New shower house - AWESOME!!!! With a word of caution 2 showers per side, shower head angle sprays onto the dressing area floor. Nice area for tenters to wash dishes, playground convenient, easy launch area for kayaks, boat dock separate area - easy to manuever. Clean water spigot in wrong place to fill up trailer. Our spot, not all had a nice lantern holder with a place to cook on and a 2 level fire pit. We camped at Pocomoke River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Stay at Shad Landing if you have a bigger trailer. We were 34 ft, although the rangers said it was fine, I'm guessing they didn't think about attempting to park or leave. Take water from home - NASTY smell and off color!!!! If you go there, please go first without the trailer and see which spots are easy to navigate.
