Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed only one night. This is a large, very nice park close to town with LOTS of amenities- especially for kids. A bit pricey but excellent service and large, concrete pull though sites with patios, tables and fire rings. The owners have invested a lot into this resort. We camped at Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Alligator Park Mobile Home and RV Park (55+ park), Punta Gorda, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed at Alligator Park a couple of times in 2017 and really like it. Well kept Park, nice level concrete sites, full hookups, a great heated pool and friendly staff and neighbors. It's a resident owned park with about half mobile homes and half RV lots. Pretty busy and hard to get in during winter season due to popular location. Our only negative on this park is the 90-degree angle slim sites combined with narrow roads makes backing into the sites a challenge. We camped at Alligator Park Mobile Home and RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Pensacola RV Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very convenient to I-10 but feels totally isolated from that traffic and noise. Well maintained and easy to maneuver. Excellent customer service. We experienced electrical problems and the owners immediately identified the issue and replaced the breaker and plug in our post. We camped at Pensacola RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Okatoma Resort & RV Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 20 minutes outside Hattiesburg in a rural farmland setting. It's really a beautiful landscape but would be an exceptional resort with some updating, a little redesign and other improvements. There's a LOT of permanent guests who work in the area so the outgoing traffic early each morning is busy. A few lovely lakes with wildlife and fishing on the property. Quite nice and accommodating on-site management. Very pet friendly with a large dog run.

Be aware: The drive-in is a long one-way road. (Although not marked as such when you enter: don't fret about oncoming traffic). We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Bossier City, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice convenient park to I-20 but also really close to a busy railroad track. I grew up around trains so they reminded me of childhood but some might be bothered. All paved roads and sites with extra concrete at your site for the truck/toad. Some good sized trees offer some shade. Exceptionally friendly and helpful office staff although they do have odd hours as others have mentioned. We camped at DiamondJacks Casino and Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Belle Starr COE, Stigler, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

This large lake front park is a mix of great sites and some really bad sites. Fortunately I picked a good one but walking the park I saw many sites with issues - unlevel, blocking trees, flood damaged, utilities in difficult locations. Our row of sites and others were great - extra long, huge concrete pad & patios, very level. Decent OTA television and cell signal. Satellite TV will depend on site and trees. Really nice popular boat launch in the park and Lake Eufaula is beautiful. There are a few "volunteer" campers staying at the park and those folks appear to have moved in. Very messy with multiple vehicles, ATV's, dogs/cats running free, old couches, etc. A sad detraction from an otherwise nice park. We camped at Belle Starr COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Island Resort Casino RV Park, Harris, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This a lovely park - well maintained and convenient (and a good value) - but has a few design flaws. I echo earlier reviews: it's got some really tight turns especially if the nearby sites are occupied. Since they let you choose your site based on availability upon arrival I would recommend parking in the lot just outside and walking in to choose a site. Many of the sites are also very unlevel. And they really need better signage from the road. The park is somewhat hard to locate. Great customer-friendly people working there - on the phone and in person. We camped at Island Resort Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Meramec State Park, Sullivan, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A nice woodsy setting close enough to the freeway for convenience but far enough to escape the noise. In a nice valley but means almost no cell service and absolutely no air TV channels. Satellite TV depends on your site. Loved finding a FHU site in a State Park but due to recent rains and low lying state of the sites, its muddy and messy. They have a great cave entrance inside the park and give daily tours. Well worth it! Then there's "the tree"! They have a badly damaged, barely alive 300 year old oak tree right beside the driveway into the park. You can't miss it! And I mean SERIOUSLY! The limbs hang only 11 feet above the road which means you must drive off-road into the mud around it to avoid damage. Be aware!! We camped at Meramec State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bay Mills RV Park, Brimley, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty good casino campground with a view of the lake. Gravel roads and sites with decent spacing. EXCEPTIONAL cable service with HD. A short walk across the street to the casino, restaurants or the shore of Lake Superior. Staff was really great both on the phone and on site during the day. We camped at Bay Mills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Brimley is little short on services and businesses but Sault Ste Marie is a 20 minute drive with TONS to see and do. Also, take the drive to the Iroquois Lighthouse and get the history and enjoy the lakefront walk.

Kewadin Casino Hotel and Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Called the day before arrival for reservation but park is first-come service only. We're told if we arrive early we should be fine. Arrived around 2pm with 6+ sites open but they would only let us stay 1 night as they closed for a big concert in 4 days. (Maybe mention this when I called!) This "campground" is really just some electric/water posts installed around the edge of a remote parking lot. Very unlevel grass/gravel sites and no sewer or dump station. We camped at Kewadin Casino Hotel and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Harbor Cove RV Resort, Coldwater, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A relatively new lakeside park that's working well to build a great destination. Very helpful staff. Gated entry with nice gravel roads & wide, level sites but very few with any shade. No cable yet but easy to get satellite signals. A boat launch inside the park and docks along with a sandy beach & volleyball. As the park gets busier some of the sites will become difficult for entry/exit as they are designed at 90 degree angles. One note: The lakefront sites are designed for motorhomes to face the water - not for trailers - with the utilities on the "opposite" side of the site. We camped at Harbor Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice lakefront campground with some extra long full hookup, pull through sites and some nice, no-sewer sites backed up to the lake with great sunsets. Pulled up without reservations but the host gave us some options and we really enjoyed our stay. Nice trees provide shade from the summer heat. A really nice COE campground! Timber Trails Campground, Mulberry Grove, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is mostly occupied by permanent, weekend get-a-way campers. A decent overnight stop with easy enough highway access and a very helpful manager. A lot of trash/junk/brush piles scattered through the park.

Quiet during the week but the crowd shows up on Friday evening. Feels a bit like you're crashing someone else's party. A few too many 'wife-beater' shirts and confederate flags for my taste. We camped at Timber Trails Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Johnny Appleseed Campground, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice municipality: operated campground close to everything. Well kept, large shade trees and good sites. No sewer but a convenient dump station as you leave. Very helpful camp hosts and really clean bath houses.

Our only complaint was at least 3 campers had turned their campsite into a worksite: one a woodworking shop, one a machine building shop and the third re-furbing a work truck. Not exactly a quiet, relaxing environment. We camped at Johnny Appleseed Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
