Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, Mount Carmel, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights as we explored Zion. Our boys loved the pools and the hot tub felt great after a long day of hiking. The trailhead to Observation Point via the East Mesa trail is close and because it's less strenuous than the traditional trail, even our 5 year old walked this trail. We camped at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Valley of Fire State Park, Overton, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Wow! We loved this place. One of our favorite campgrounds. Enjoyed the rock formations that tower over the sites. In the morning a big horned sheep walked past our camp site. This is a State Park and not a campground but it does offer a loop that has water and electric. The bathrooms were not in great shape as one of the two stalls in the men's room was not working as was one of the two urinals. The campground did offer showers that while rustic, did work. The RV loop doesn't accept reservations and has a self check-in and pay station. The sites are well spaced apart with large beautiful rock formations between many sites. There are fire rings and picnic tables with coverings for shade. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Travel Trailer.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very well managed and seems very clean and quiet. This is not a park for families with children. The GoodSam rate of $41 per night covers just two people and each additional person is $10 extra. Their main clientele seems to be retired couples so this works, but there are no amenities such as playgrounds, pools, fire pits, or open areas that would attract families. Overall a nice, clean, quiet park that works for couples and long term people. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
