Natalbany Creek Campground & RV Park, Amite, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

What a find!!! We wanted to make a stop on I55 and this location was available on the spur of the moment. Park is behind a casino (makes it hard to find), but once you find it, it is a pleasure to stay at. There is a nice backdrop to woodsy area and a huge lake (not usable), but adds to the ambiance of the park. Had a pull through spot, but most are back in and not always lined up side by side, but still a VERY nice layout. We camped at Natalbany Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

A+ Motel & RV Park, Sulphur, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservations on the road and was able to secure a spot easily. It was a pull through and easy to hook up. Park has a pond that makes it feel like you are right around the water. There is also a regular pool and an adult only pool. Friendly to dogs also. The only negative would be the location is right near the highway and you can hear the thump of tires as they go over potholes. Not extremely loud, just noticeable. Other than that, a great place to stop and stay. We camped at A+ Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

River Town Campground, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Called on the way and was able to get a space for two nights. Got our site and was all set up before the rains came in. Very large spaces with lots of room between you and your neighbor. The spaces and interior lanes are all large gravel, but they are mostly level and very clean. If you want to have your trash picked up instead of taking it to the dumpster, you can leave at the edge of your space and it will be picked up. Super friendly office staff and very helpful. They have ice for a $1 per 10 lbs that they put together as needed. Would come back here for an extended stay or even a pass through night stop. One note of warning...watch out for the fire ants....they are all over. The park looks like they are trying to stay on top of them, but even the best watchers can miss the stubborn little pests. We camped at River Town Campground in a Motorhome.

Dauphin Island Campground, Dauphin Island, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

There have been negative reviews by others that state this campground looks like the majority of campers are long term, cramped spaces and unlevel spaces, and they are right. But, the campground grows on you after you are there and accept it for what it is. It is a place for fishing, taking your kids to enjoy the outdoors, enjoying access to a VERY clean beach and getting to know fellow campers. If you want pristine and perfect, this is not your place, but if you want to meet people and feel like you are camping in the woods, then this is a place for you. We camped at Dauphin Island Campground in a Motorhome.
