Mountain View RV Park, Bowie, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Great value for full hookups. Some train noise, but not enough to make us not want to come back. Friendly service. We'll be back. (Note for editor of site: Campground address should be 1120 WEST Business 10, not east. Had trouble finding it with our GPS when approaching from the east.) We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bonham State Park, Bonham, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet state park by a small lake with trees. The back-in sites were easy to manage with our small 5th wheel trailer. Great place to stop over for a night or two. More relaxing that staying at a commercial park. We camped at Bonham State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great place to walk around the small lake and check out the roosting black vultures and spot other birds (we also saw a great blue heron). There's other hikes that start and end near the campground.

Four -K- Stables, Bassfield, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This gentleman was the gracious host and owner of the stables/camping area near the Longleaf Trace. Just 5 back-in sites near the barn and next to a pasture with goats and horses. We were the only ones here. It would have been a tight fit for our small 5th wheel if there were other RV's present. I can't say that it's "big rig friendly," but from my understanding, the sites aren't used very much.

It was great for us because we were here to ride bikes on the Longleaf Trace, which is only a couple of blocks away. Very beautiful and quiet here. You'll most likely have the place to yourself - nice! We camped at Four -K- Stables in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Perfect launching point when doing the Longleaf Trace. We rode both north and south from the campground and saw a lot of the Trace. It was also fun feeding the goats and horses at the stables. There's a couple of cool, old buggies in the barn that were fun to check out.

Pioneer RV Park, Hermiston, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice surprise to find this super clean and tidy RV park. Lots of semi-permanent residents, but all with larger, newer 5th wheels and trailers. Nice laundry and shower facilities. Made a nice stopover place on our way back to Colorado from the Astoria area. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Peak View RV Park, Wheatland, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient place to stop when we were returning to Denver. Not far off of I-25 on the road to Guernsey. Mostly semi-permanent residents (10 of 14 available spots looked like they had trailers that had been there for some time). Friendly owner. Sites were gravel and mostly level. Nothing fancy, but filled the need for a convenient, reasonably priced park. We camped at Peak View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We stopped at Peak View because we wanted to avoid getting to Denver during rush hour (or should I say "rush hours"?). Since we had the afternoon to get out and tour around, we drove east to Guernsey and out to Fort Laramie National Historic Site. Great place to visit!! Highly recommended. Register Rock in Guernsey also worthwhile if you're interested in Oregon Trail history.
