This was the worst experience we had camping. The campground was VERY noisy -- the 5 MPH limit was not enforced, and people drove golf carts everywhere. We could not let out daughter ride her scooter for fear of her getting hit. The campground announces by loudspeaker when their snack bar opens, and unfortunately we were camping near the office and this was a horrible wake up call for my family. Evening movies and events in the entertainment tent were so loud that even with our AC running we could not mask the sound. The cable TV listed is very very grainy and includes about 5 channels. We used the bathrooms and they were not clean, showers have lots of hard water stains and shower curtains did not appear to have been laundered recently, there was mold on the edges. The ceramics offered were very high priced (most were close to $10) and not targeted toward children, although the brushes certainly were. The Splash Water Park was 3 items that spray water in the shallow pool area, not at all what we expected. When I first entered the pool & got water on my face, I thought it was a salt water pool, not a chlorinated pool. They also have a 10 minute break (everyone out of the pool) every hour -- seems more to entice people to order from the overpriced snack bar than to allow a bathroom break for the 4 - 5 life guards on duty. With all of the great ratings I saw for this park, I was very very disappointed in it as a whole. We will not return here.

This is our second trip to this campground and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Campground staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a lot of information available about local events, wineries, hikes, festivals, etc. Plenty of things for the children to do, reasonable rates if you want to buy a band for an entertainment package. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept. One note: if you are going to be watching kids on the jumping mattress, bring a beach umbrella, its very sunny there! We camped with two other families and would recommend this again.

This was our first trip to this campground and we loved it. There was a lot for us to do and the activities did not cost us any more money. A few folks commented on the high rate but we've paid this high rate at other places and still had to shell out more money once we got there for other things to do. The rate included the pool and really fun water park, pedal karts --unlimited use but first come first serve, and the bouncing pillow. We had a nice shaded site and did not feel as if we were on top of our neighbors, although it was difficult to get into. Staff was friendly and the store was very well stocked.

A very family friendly campground. Facilities were all clean and well kept, staff were friendly and open to camper's comments and suggestions. Lots of golf cart traffic here, and be prepared to walk up & down the hill if you are camping in a shaded site. This is the second time we have camped here and we wished we'd had another weekend there. Make reservations early, they book quickly.

This was a very nice, quiet, well-kept park. We camped in a row that backed up to an open field, which gave plenty of space for our group's children to play. They are pretty clear on their rules and because of it, the park is very well kept, clean, quiet-- no golf carts racing up & down roads, etc. We played mini-golf, swam in the pool, and played in the playground. They also have two ponds: one for fishing (catch & release), and one just for feeding the fish. We would definitely camp here again.

We loved this campground and will be sure go back again. We had a pull in site next to a grassy "yard" which our dog really appreciated! Our site was well shaded and was well located to all of the park's amenities. The staff was very pleasant as well. The area is gorgeous and next time we will do more hiking & sightseeing. However this allowed us to take full advantage of the park's amenities and they were very nice. Don't miss the hiking trail that winds along the back of the campground--we discovered it only the morning we were leaving and wish we'd gotten around to it sooner.

Pros: VERY clean--grounds and bathrooms; nice pool; short drive to Gettysburg attractions; easy access to highway; nice activities (we participated in two); friendly staff Cons: this campground is RIGHT NEXT to a busy highway. There is not one site in the campground from which you do not hear highway traffic. this was a big detraction for us. The water at this campground is thoroughly disgusting, even when filtered. bring your own water for everything that you will be consuming. I cannot say if its the campground only, or the whole area--after the first day we bought lots & lots of bottled water and used only that. The store was nicely stocked with RV equipment but only the bare necessities for grocery items; there were no real souvenir type products for the area which was frankly surprising. we used only the pool near the main entrance. it was clean and clear but not attended by a staff person for 2 out of 3 visits. Teenagers played very --well crazy like teenagers with no regard for little children in the pool. this was not the best. and the pool, despite no staffing, had hours of 10 - 7 although it was very light till after 8 pm. teens drove golf carts very fast up & down the roadways. We will most likely try other campgrounds in this area which advertise half the price. (We spent $50 for our first night & $65/night for the next two nights) Wireless internet is available but only for an extra fee

This is our second time coming to this campground. We have found it very clean and well kept, and most of the guests also very friendly & courteous. The bathrooms were clean as were the showers. Wear you sneakers here, there is plenty of walking if you do the activities, and the hike around the lake is enjoyable. There are several playgrounds located around the campground which was very nice for my 4 1/2 year old & her friend. If I were to settle in as a seasonal camper somewhere, it would probably be here. We were rushed through our activity (ceramics was to end at 12:30 and they were putting everything away at 11:45) The only reason I did not give them a 10 is that I thought the staff had an end of season attitude at the beginning of the season . . maybe they were having a bad weekend.

We camped here in October 2007 and had a great time. We camped next to a field where "spillover" & tents would go. There was a steam engine festival right next door, so it was a bit loud when the steam engine was running but otherwise it was quiet. We did not interact with the office except to check in. *** I guessed at the nightly rate. it was in that neighborhood

We loved this park and will make it a regular spot. We camped alongside friends, and we had a preschooler plus our dog. We found the campground well maintained and secure, the seasonal areas were very nice, our site and our friend's sites were level and easy to get in & out of, lots of activities, friendly campers. Our only caution is if you are coming up 80N, be prepared for lots of traffic. once we hit the campground we loved it.

We fully enjoyed this campground. The facilities were impressively clean. This campground had several small play grounds plus a large one that made it wonderful for us, traveling with a preschooler. The small amusement park area was just great for the pre-teen crowd. We camped pre-swim weather so did have a chance to use the pool although it appeared clean and well kept. I don't recall a ton of very shady spots -- (I'm writing this 3 mos later) although there were plenty of trees around. I'd have to go back in the deep summer to see if its too very sunny but it was a good experience.
