Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

Been coming here for 20 years but will not longer visit. The rates of gotten so out of reach. They claim to be a 'resort' but they're really not a resort. The positives: a free bus ride to & from Hershey Park (IF you go, IF you want to wait and wait and wait for a ride). Also nice are the pools. The negatives: the early and constant sounds of the gas powered golf carts by the staff. They race around the campground from the early morning and go all day long. They are so obnoxious! They are not even the quiet electric carts! These are not younger people driving them either. By looking at the staff in the golf carts most of them are over 50! Also very negative: the high cost, it's gotten ridiculous. Just a couple of years ago we were paying around $42 per night, now it's $100. Awful! We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Castaways RV Resort & Campground , Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $98.00
Overall Rating:

Used the restrooms (showers) 4 times and they were clean only once. AND the shower water was SCALDING HOT with no ability to lower the temp! I told the office 3 times and after the 3rd time the temp was lowered but still not enough. I talked with others in the shower and they all agreed that the water was way too hot. Also used the gym and the pin (to increase the weight more than 10 lbs) on the universal weight machine was missing. I told the office and checked the gym a few more times and it was still not replaced. This resort has a lot of amenities and really is a great place; they just need to respond to reasonable requests. The stones on the site are WAY too large & have sharp edges. They should be smaller, smooth pebbles. Every staff member we encountered was friendly & helpful. We camped at Castaways RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows), Freeland, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Rules. Rules. Rules. So many rules. And they nickel & dime you for everything. The pull throughs in section F were long. Very long. They could have fit at least two big rigs. The sites were about 80-100 feet long and not very wide at all. They should spray for ants and bugs. Even in a wide open section with no trees at all and a campfire going there were just too many ants. We camped at Merry Meadows Recreation Farm (formerly Morris Meadows) in a Travel Trailer.

Frontier Town Family Campground, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $98.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground for kids/families but very pricey! The water park is OK - not great but you have to pay for it every day - even if you don't use it. It seems that parents take a vacation from parenting when they are at this campground. The kids ride bikes and walk right in front of moving cars and trucks. There are sooooo many golf carts that are out of control. There should be separate paths/roads for walkers, bikers, golf carts, and vehicles! Would have rated higher but for the golf carts and kids. We camped at Frontier Town Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort, Belfast, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, what a nice little gem of a park. Very small but the view is amazing! Very quiet, older crowd in mostly motor homes. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Minimal playground equipment for kids. Would have given a 10 but the Wi-Fi was practically worthless. So slow. Traveled 500+ (nervous) miles to get here but was worth it. First time staying here but will try to return. Had the lobster pizza (yup, lobster pizza!) at the restaurant at park property - fantastic! We camped at Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

WAY too many golf carts. They are everywhere! This is a great campground. But quiet hour needs to be enforced. Listening to about 4 guys that had too much to drink till 2:00 am was not appreciated. Close to Assateague & Ocean City, MD. We camped at Frontier Town Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stateline Campresort & Cabins, East Killingly, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The only major issue with this CG is the tight roads. Ended up partially in a ditch while trying to turn corner on road getting to our site. The restroom at the office area was dated and a bit dirty. Staff was nice, especially when trying to resolve an issue at the pool with campers that didn't agree. Would camp here again. We camped at Stateline Campresort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

A small CG but very nice. The owners were very nice & attentive. A large percentage of seasonals & permanents. Some of them looked a bit run down. The road is a one-way and very narrow. Would stay again. We camped at Hemlock Campground & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Robin Hill Camping Resort, Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $53.00

Some sites need a bit of leveling and gravel. It had just rained and the grassy areas got extremely muddy quickly. Sad that there is little camper etiquette and manners. People (adults as well as children) constantly cutting through our sites even as we sat at our campfire. Requested that they not cut through, but that didn't stop them. Do NOT cut through occupied sites! We camped at Robin Hill Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Cape Cod Campresort & Cabins, East Falmouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place. But sites are very small and close together. Bathrooms and showers get dirty quickly. Can't bring in wood from outside and they charge outrageous fees to purchase wood for a fire. Tenters played music much too loud and too late: way past quiet hour. Was quite obnoxious during the day as well. We camped at Cape Cod Campresort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Ives Run COE, Tioga, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have camped here a number of times and it seems like its gone down hill a bit. We made repeated requests to have bathrooms cleaned and they just did not seem to be getting it done. A number of sites had trouble with water pressure and the water hookups were making loud squealing noises each time the water inside the rig was used. A problem for the folks next to us in tents in the middle of the night. We camped at Ives Run COE in a Travel Trailer.

Warwick Woods Campground, Elverson, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This place was a bit pricey for being off season. Only a few sewer sites available: our site did not have sewer. Quite a lot of seasonals but they seemed to be 'true seasonals' without too many tacky lawn ornaments. Someone that lives down the road a bit seems to have an objection to this cg. Every time they drive down the road they blow an EXTREMELY LOUD, obnoxious air horn from their truck at any hour of the day. May return to this cg but there are others available nearby that are less expensive. Bath house has NO HEAT so remember this in the spring/fall chilly weather! Bathroom was not clean but not exceptionally dirty either. Maybe I visited just before cleaning time? We camped at Warwick Woods Campground in a Travel Trailer.
