Bear Den RV Resort , Grangeville, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent small town/country RV park situated on a hillside with great views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Everything was clean and well maintained. The sites provide plenty of room with grass in-between. Utilities are located in a concrete pad next to each site. The design and function of this park appears to be very well thought out. It is right off the main highway but for some reason traffic noise was almost un-noticeable. A great value for the price! We camped at Bear Den RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Farragut State Park, Athol, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

I agreed with all the positive comments about this park. It is very well maintained and spotless. However, as someone else who visited last year in September noted they close the restrooms and showers in all the campgrounds in September. There are the nicest pit toilets I've ever seen available, but they still smell like pit toilets no matter how nice and clean they are. There are no sewer hookups in the campsites. They had an open beach restroom down by the lake that the park clerk directed me too when I enquired about showers at checkin, but she didn't say a word about the campground restrooms being complete closed for the season. I felt I wasn't given full disclosure. Be aware that the campground is far above the lake and most people will want to drive to the beach area, whether for swimming or a hot shower. We camped at Farragut State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar RV Park, Ione, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great, well run park in the beautiful Pend Orville River valley in NE Washington state. For the price you can't beat it. Wifi gets a little slow in the evenings as expected. The cable TV works great. The bathrooms, showers and laundry was always spotless. The owners are very helpful and have a store with lots of RV parts. The sites are concrete pads or nice green grass. The drives were gravel and quite dusty as it hadn't rained here for a least two months. They have a very nice do it yourself car/rv wash on the premises. We camped at Cedar RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pend Oreille River runs thru the town of Ione. Also there's lot's of lakes and hiking trails in the area. A must see is the Boundary Dam, much of which was carved out of a stone mountain (and where Kevin Costner's movie the Postman was filmed). Free tours are offered multiple times a day 5 days a week. Crawford State Park nearby has a great cave tour as well.

Winchester RV Park and Campground, Republic, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The paved sites and drives, the lush grass and the shade from many trees was an awesome break from the normal dry and dusty conditions we encounter in most RV parks in August. The owners are friendly and helpful, even loaning us a cooler to use while defrosting our fridge. We camped at Winchester RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Republic is small, but includes a health food coop and brew pub. There is an old railroad line that has been converted to a walking, running and biking path that goes from downtown right by the park and all the way to the far end of Curlew Lake, making this rv park a great place to hang out if you walk, bike and/or run. Curlew Lake is nearby for fishing and water sports enthusiasts.

Pearrygin Lake State Park, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Our reservation was for the West loop which as another reviewer stated is not the original park. If we had stayed in the East loop (original park) I would have definitely rated this park above average. There is a night and day different between the two loops. Nice little lake. Good beaches for swimming and water sports. Lake might get crowded with boats on a hot day. Great place for kids. We camped at Pearrygin Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Alpine RV Park, Marblemount, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in a great location for exploring the North Cascade National Park. My rating would have been lower for the park itself, but I felt I should consider the excellent location in the overall rating. Everything is old, but seemed in decent repair. My wife was comfortable taking a shower in the women's restroom, but I chose not to use the men's shower because they were not clean and neither had a shower knob. Sites are grass and may require some effort leveling. When I attached my sewer hose everything looked fine, but after dumping and rinsing, the system was overflowing and apparently could not handle the relatively small volume I put in it. I'd recommend you avoid dumping if possible or limit the amount you put in. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Marble mount has a ranger station, 3 or 4 places to eat and a company offering rafting trips on the river. The nearby national park is as close as you will get to the Swiss Alps in the U.S.A.!
