Canton Civic Center & RV Park, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

First Monday Trade Days in Canton is pretty big. It is the first weekend before the first Monday of each month. They have a huge concrete area for their sellers. I don't know if they are opened for campers on the other weekends when First Monday isn't in session. Checkin/office is at the log cabin building. You find a spot, park, then walk to the log cabin to tell them which spot and pay. Non-seller spots are unreserved; first come-first serve. The campsite area is a completely open grass field with dirt driveways (some have a bit of gravel) for each lane. Mostly level with some little potholes. If it rains, the area is MUDDY (they are in a flood zone). When we were leaving, there was an RV was stuck in the mud. The area had plenty of room between neighbors since it didn't get full. Trees are only on the property's edge. The water and electricity hookups are on tall telephone poles; each pole serves 2 campsites. I use 30amp, but I believe that they also had 50amp. There are no real "lines" for your camp space. You just pull up next to a pole onto the grassy area. I don't think this area had sewer hookups. The showers and restrooms are in a permanent building (cinderblock with blue roof), and is shared with the Canton sellers that have a separate campsite. Pretty clean. During the day, there is a restroom attendant. In the ladies' side, there were about 15 toilet stalls and I think there were 10 shower stalls. Free WiFi. Paid Cable TV. Dump Station. This is a basic RV park. Overall, I was satisfied with my weekend, but then I wasn't the RV that got stuck in the mud. I have a little fiberglass camper that I pull with a Jeep. We camped at Canton Civic Center & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tennessee Country Campground and RV Park, Niota, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Went there for a 3 night stay during the total eclipse. I was told that there wouldn't be any difference in rates due to the eclipse, but when we arrived, it was doubled. I didn't want to start my eclipse weekend with a fight, so I just paid. There are 22 sites. The staff was super friendly. Wi-Fi is a hit or miss. I wasn't sure if it was just the sheer number of eclipse people. Not much in amenities, just a clubhouse with a TV, darts, and I think a pool table. A couple of coin op washers and dryers were in between the restroom/showers. The ladies room had 3 toilets and 2 showers. There are RV'ers that rent monthly there, so some places look more lived in with fences and such. The terrain was of grass and gravel. Hilly as expected in TN. I watched motorhomes turning VERY slowly down the narrow, gravel road so as to avoid sliding. My site was pretty nice with morning sun and afternoon shade. Lots of trees in TN. Usual hookups, picnic table, and a tractor trailer wheel for our fire pit. Overall, nice location in the countryside, but the clubhouse, restrooms, and laundry room are clean, but old and tired. Everything is very rustic, but that what camping is! :) We camped at Tennessee Country Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
