This is not a camping resort. It is a dump. We camped at Hampton Lodge Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park. But it is over rated and over priced. Wireless internet is available for $10 a day. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Paul Bunyan Campground, Bangor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park but has several drawbacks. The people are friendly and do a good job of maintaining the grounds. We stayed in a full hook-up site. 30 amp service kept shutting down (With only coffee maker and electric hot water on.) The big problem was that when the circuit breaker kicked off I had to go to the office and have the maintenance man reset it in the office building. Water pressure never got above 30 PSI. The roads are gravel and in bad shape. The biggest problem was living with "The sound of freedom" That is how Bangor chooses to refer to the jet noise from the Navel Air Base. The jets came thundering over at all times of the day and night. They are so loud and so close that our rig shook violently. I am really sorry to report the negatives of this park. But you should know and be prepared. We camped at Paul Bunyan Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pleasant Hill Campground, Hermon, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Pleasant Hill should be renamed Unpleasant Hill. We cannot comment on our stay because we were treated so rudely in the check-in office and by the owner while we were parked on the road waiting to check in. The owner was very snippy and Unpleasant and even told us that we could not turn around and ordered us to back out. Pleasant Hill is not very Pleasant. We left and went to a park down the road. We did find Paul Bunyon right down the road to be very pleasant and less expensive and we are staying there for a week. We camped at Pleasant Hill Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
