Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 5 nights. Overall, the park is nice and the staff was very friendly. The new showers were the best of any campground we have stayed at. The laundry is housed in the same building and since we had been on the road more than a week prior, we needed to use it. We did feel that the laundry was a bit expensive. If staying here again, I would look for another option for laundry. We were also put way down on the opposite end of the lots, with many empty spaces in between. This put us farthest away from the showers and beside a poorly maintained, old RV that appeared to be permanent, but being at that spot also gave us a delightful morning and evening view of the many deer that are around the park. We would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Cedar Pass Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We were thrilled to find this campground in the middle of the beauty of The Badlands. While we had some conveniences, we still felt pretty remote here. Yes, like others have said, it is not laid out like your typical campground, but we thought it was pretty easy to just pull up and stop at the sites. Because we had to switch our dates after I made the initial reservations, we had electric one night and then had to move to a non-electric site the second night. It was really no problem and our view of the Badlands was even better the second night. We would definitely come here again and it was a great experience! We camped at Cedar Pass Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When doing the 30 mile loop of The Badlands, we were glad that we had towed our Jeep Wrangler. Some of the hills are steep and it was just easier to get off of the road at viewpoints and if we saw something the we wanted to take a picture of with the smaller vehicle. Glad that we were able to leave RV in the campground.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here on our way to The Badlands via I90. We wanted to check out Mitchell anyways so it was a convenient stop. The gal in the office was friendly and helpful. The pull thru spots were long enough for our 31ft class A and our Jeep Wrangler tow. The showers were very clean. We would definitely stay here again and we wish that all overnight stops were as easy and nice as this one! We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Historic Downtown Mitchell and it happened to be "Thirsty Thursday" and they had a band and food trucks in front of The Corn Palace.
