El Governor Motel & RV Park, Mexico Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Beware! Before you book your RV site insist on getting to policies emailed to you BEFORE you give them a credit card. They will not refund your money or allow you to camp there as make up days under ANY circumstances including a HURRICANE WATCH. If you have a driving RV without a car and leave your site without notifying them they can and will re rent your site (and keep your money). We asked to use our 2 extra days we prepaid for on our return from hurricane evacuation and they flat out said NO! Their other policies include no cleaning of fish at your site and no disposal of fish guts in their dumpster. If you do not clean the bath house they will close it. They point out that as an RV park they are not required to offer one. Management is great on the phone but VERY RUDE once you get there. There are permanent campers that store a lot of "stuff" outside which junks up the campground. No one from management directed the residents to put things away when the hurricane was coming. Biting flies were a bother. Should you choose to stay you will find rather narrow spots with gravel. A small picnic table which is adequate for 4 people. It is right across the street from the beach and you do have access to a hotel pool on the beach as well. You can also rent wave runners at the beach which is a plus. I did not use the bath house so I can't comment. We camped at El Governor Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
