Soldier Creek Campground, Heber City, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Forest Service Campground with no hookups but you can run the generator except between 10PM and 6AM. At 7200 feet you don't need A/C at night anyway. Lots of space between sites and the camp hosts were fantastic. Walking distance to boat ramp and marina. Strawberry Reservoir is some of the best trout fishing in Utah. The other thing I'd say is that this place had the best dump station setup I've ever seen. Each aisle had two stations. The first had the dump station and a hose of (non-drinkable water) on a tower so you could reach it through the bathroom window to flush the black tank. Worked great. Then you pull up to the next island and there is potable water for filling your freshwater tank. Very nice. We camped at Soldier Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice new park. Not a destination park but was great to stay at while visiting SLC due to the proximity to downtown. Very clean, not too crowded, good store, pool, laundry, etc. The only complaint I would have is in the evening it can get kind of stinky due to the proximity to the North SLC refineries. Only outside though. Inside the coach was fine. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very run down old KOA. The roads were very tight for our rig and we do not even have a toad. The first site they put us in was impossible to get level. We complained and they moved us to a better one. But there were obvious long term / permanents residents all over. We had to back out of our pull through because of their stuff all over. I would do this for an overnight again in a pinch but that's about it. We camped at Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground in a Motorhome.

No complaints at all. Nice park, great people. Not much shade but given the location that's to be expected. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.
