Pheasant Acres RV Park, Saint James, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is about 8 miles south of the freeway, situated behind the owner's home. It is small and well managed. The owner met us at the entrance and led us to our site. It was an easy back-in. Very quite and next to a county park with plenty of places to walk with your dog. I would highly recommend this park. I would suggest to the owner however, that she paint the basketball backboard mounting pole florescent orange and clearly mark it. Paying attention to the owner, who was leading us to our site, I barely missed hitting it! Absolutely no other complaints! We camped at Pheasant Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Country Lakeside RV Park , Afton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a real gem. It is advertised as an "over 50" campground, but grandkids' visits are welcomed. The owners are polite, gregarious and helpful. The campground has excellent water, and is situated on the shore of Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Full service and well maintained. We will come back to this park. We camped at Grand Country Lakeside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Mountain Campground, Saugerties, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a nice place to stay near both the city of Saugerties and Hunter Mountain ski resort. The turn into the park is a hairpin turn, but with our 30' fifth wheel. Although the spaces are close together, they are level and clean. Bathrooms and showers are conveniently located and very clean. The campground is excellent for tent campers, and the tent sites are located in a beautiful wooded area, apart from the RV sites. Management is very polite and hospitable. I would recommend this park as a good "stop over" park. We camped at Blue Mountain Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Niantic / I-95 Exit 72 KOA, Niantic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I am very surprised that KOA has allowed the campground to affiliate. It is filled with many unused, rotting and dilapidated RVs. The person in charge often sits in the window of the office with a radar gun. If a vehicle is going over 5mph immediately upon entry to the park off the highway, she screeches like a banshee at the driver at the top of her substantial lungs! She is inhospitable, impolite and dour. Be careful when booking! Their sites have electric and water (which throughout our stay ran the color of urine) and grey-water only onsite dumps. They will pump your black water for an additional $12 per pump. Very little sunlight reaches the floor of the park, and it is located immediately next to a salvage operation - noisy! There are two redeeming qualities: it is across the street from the state park with nice hiking trails, and most of its employees are polite. If I were to stay in the area again (probably), I will certainly look for a different campsite. For the price, this one is a BUST! We camped at Niantic / I-95 Exit 72 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
