Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a lonely isolated stop. It's near US60 going east off I-25 and will suffice as an overnight stay. If you are traveling with horses there is apparently facilities for that purpose. This camper just needed an overnight stay and at $27 it was about right. Being self contained we did not use the park's facilities, so have no knowledge of that. Payment is cash only - no credit cards. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Travel Trailer.

Cincinnati South Campground, Crittenden, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with a complete canopy of big trees. Most completely shaded park ever stayed in. Grounds are fairly well kept and access is adequate. The entrance to the park off the highway is extremely difficult to see, and with traffic it's a real chore to get into. Completely missed the turn going south on the first try and had to go nearly two miles to turn around. The park is completely isolated from towns to go to so travel is a must if you need anything. Being self contained this camper did not use the park facilities. We camped at Cincinnati South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Used this park as staging to visit the Arc Encounter in Williamstown, KY. The Arc Encounter is an Answers in Genesis attraction and is well done and very interesting to see. This park is the nearest park to that site in the entire area.

Trails End RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a totally dilapidated run down little place with no upkeep and basically nothing but hookups for an overnight stay. That's all we wanted, but at the $40 price it certainly was not worth that amount for what is there. If you need an overflow spot to spend a night it will suffice. We camped at Trails End RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park was well kept. It's almost like two separate parks together. The interior is roomy with large grassy areas around the camp sites, and the other part is an outer ring of sites that are jammed packed with rigs. They stack them in that outer ring like cord wood with your neighbor sitting just feet away from your front door. We were in that outer ring, but used the park as staging for outside activities so it didn't matter to us. If you want spacious open camping be sure to reserve the interior areas. The outer ring is really crowded. Being self contained we did not use the park facilities. Evenings there is live music on a patio out behind the main building. The park is comfortable and pet friendly. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Springs Campground, North Bend, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

The park is nestled around a lake and the owners take good care of the grounds. Fishing and boat rentals are both available. This camper did not use the park facilities and found the nightly rate fairly high. RV parks in the Cincinnati area are very scarce so they can charge on a supply and demand basis. This camper used the park as a staging area for local activities. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Used this park as two nights parking for visiting relatives in the area. Being self contained we did not use the park facilities, but witnessed several going in and out. The park has lots of big trees and easy in and out access. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overland RV Park, Van Buren, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a bare bones over night type park. If self contained it is adequate for stays as long as desired for other outside activities. The park is strictly for travelers or workers. It is not family oriented but is pet friendly. Payment is cash only, and they will accept checks from travelers. WiFi is not great, but available most of the time. We camped at Overland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hargus RV Park (formerly Wink's R.V. Park), Clinton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a bi-level park and entrance into each area is separate from each other. Check-in is in a boutique store and the clerk is the store/park owner-manager. If the shop is closed you have to self register. The grounds are not well kept and this camper did not try to use any of the park facilities. There isn't anything for families and children, but the park is pet friendly. It's adequate for over night parking if you're self contained. We camped at Hargus RV Park (formerly Wink's R.V. Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Road RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This camper does not use park facilities being self contained. The park is adequate for overnight stays, but the grounds are not well kept. Everything is gravel or dirt, and areas in rain run off are easy to get mired in. If self contained and looking for an overnight park this is adequate. We camped at Mountain Road RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Unfortunately Tucumcari is a dying community and there is basically nothing to do there. We unhooked to go into town for a good Mexican food meal. Very good food at Pow Wow Restaurant on W. Rte 66.

Cielo Vista RV Park, Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The entrance road into the park is long and very steep. The park is set up on two levels and getting to the main building from the upper level is a long, by road only, walk. Did not use the park facilities. This park has no amenities for family or children, but is pet friendly. It's strictly a place to park RV's for over night stays. I thought for no more than was available the price was pretty high considering the discount, and registration is cash only - no credit cards accepted. Needed a place to stay and it was adequate for that. We camped at Cielo Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cincinnati South Campground, Crittenden, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We came to the park from the north and it was hard to see. Drove right by and had to turn around. The park is well kept, and pretty with all the big trees, and during our visit, many flowers. We are self contained so we didn't use facilities on site. I can't review them. Many reviews complain about noise. It is very noisy with interstate traffic and the rail road, but the close proximity of these noise makers can easily be seen on Google maps' satellite view. Do your home work. This park has most of all the full hookups including sewer. Beware of many parks in this general area that only have dump stations. Those parks list their amenities, but don't say full hookups. Their list has "dump station" at the bottom of the list. This park doesn't have cable, but many stations can be received on a regular antenna. The night we stayed I would say that there was less than a quarter of the sites filled and most of those not filled seemed to have had little use. In trying to make a reservation a few days earlier we were told there were no full hookup spaces available. I now question whether that was actually true, or just hype to make folks think they're real busy. We had to stay in another park, but then got reservations a couple days later. It all worked out, but I wasn't pleased about that. Staff was efficient and cordial. We were led to our site and the staff helped us get into the site. Unless an RV park has concrete slabs to park on that are perfectly level, spaces are generally in need of some help getting a rig leveled. We did here and it's not a problem for most spaces. There are many complaints about unlevel sites. There are some, but for the most part it's not a problem. For folks going to the Arc Encounter this is the closest park, and for that venue it's completely acceptable. We camped at Cincinnati South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Dry Ridge, KY is five miles south where there are restaurants and a Super Wal Mart along with other shopping. The Arc Encounter is five miles south from there (10 miles from park). Florence, KY 20 miles north has more shopping than can be imagined. If you're just an over niter it a good park.
