Lake Mead RV Village, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of our least favorite parks. I'm sure it's more fun during the summer, but in the winter, there is nothing extra to do here. There are tons of mobile homes around the park, to be used as vacation homes, but they look run down. Many RV's are run down and dirty. Did not feel safe, judging from the surrounding neighbors. Laundry room needs updating - out of 9 machines, 4 of them were broken. Sites are narrow - our slide out was 18 inches from our neighbor's. Would not recommend. We camped at Lake Mead RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

There is much to see and do around Las Cruces. This park felt safe, was conveniently located, and was very clean. However, it isn't very family friendly. The kids aren't allowed in the hot tub and there is no where for them to play. When they tried to play outside, an elderly camper told them they weren't allowed to play outside in the campground and they needed to go across the street (I10 was across the street!). The office staff wasn't very friendly. We won't return. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Branch RV Park, Spring Branch, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Paige, the manager, was extremely friendly and helpful. The park is spotlessly clean. Restrooms/showers, laundry, recreation room are all wonderful. Convenient to Blanco and the north side of San Antonio. Reasons we won't be returning...park is mostly full of seasonal/full timers and feels run down, directly on side of 281 so there's lots of road noise, no privacy between sites. Could use a little more to do for kids. We camped at Spring Branch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite parks! Lots of privacy between sites because of foliage. Short bike ride to the private BEAUTIFUL beach. Clean, safe park. Laundry room was large, clean, and cheap. 5 minutes to Walmart and not much farther to anything else you may need. Will definitely recommend and return here. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Greenbrier Campground (formerly Greenbrier Island), Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here and thought this park looked superior to the many other parks in the area. Loved the river going through the campground and it would be fun to play in in the summer. Clean, safe, decent laundry, clean restrooms/showers, several activities choices for kids. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Greenbrier Campground (formerly Greenbrier Island) in a Fifth Wheel.

New River State Park, Laurel Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The park was nearly empty when we were there...out of 20 campsites, only one other one was occupied. But it felt safe and we loved our time here. Spent 4 days just being outside, exploring the park and trails, and enjoying a little solitude in nature. No playground for kids, but they had fun exploring the surrounding woods. The park office has a small museum about the area that's entertaining and informative. The only drawbacks were no laundry facilities and the long drive into town for groceries. We camped at New River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our time at this park. Clean, mostly safe, convenient to town and area attractions, small playground but lots of grassy space to play. Laundry could use some upgrades but was okay. Mini golf was so old that it was unusable. Office staff very knowledgeable and friendly. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Creek Campground, Gardners, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful scenery here, convenient to Gettysburg and Harrisburg. The playground and creek were nice for the kids. Honestly, the main reason for the average rating is the amount of seasonal/permanent residents. Many RV's were old and their sites were dirty...it left me feeling very unsafe. Also, the sites are extremely close. We only had a neighbor for one night, but while we did, I could rest my back on his RV while sitting at our picnic table. We won't return. We camped at Mountain Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pros...convenient to DC metro area, many amenities, great heated pool, nice laundry, cafe with decent food, felt safe. Cons...very crowded and no privacy, TONS of road noise and sirens nonstop, surrounding community feels unsafe, subway into DC gets very expensive for a family. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Fifth Wheel.

Jellystone Park of Western New York, North Java, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

This park would be fun for just a few nights and it obviously caters to families. However, we were here for a week (with multiple children) and will not return. Too crowded on the weekends, dusty roads are annoying. Laundry facilities were terrible - 4 washers and 3 were broken, 2 dryers and 2 didn't heat, took multiple cycles to halfway dry anything. Campground showers had no hot water and the staff was unable to fix the problem during our entire stay. We didn't find the staff very helpful or friendly. The location is very remote so either take everything you need or be prepared to travel a good distance to find anything. The one benefit to this park was that it was an hour away from Niagara Falls, which was the main purpose of our time here. We camped at Jellystone Park of Western New York in a Fifth Wheel.
