Sunset Point RV Trailer Park, Lubec, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Our spot had a lovely view of the bay, and the shore trail provided beautiful views, including sunsets. Adorable office had lots of books and dvd's, and a kind and helpful host. Very quiet and peaceful - off the beaten path. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

White Birches Camping Resort, Shelburne, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very helpful, friendly staff. Nice laundry facility and lots of reading material, including trail info. Gated, so safe. We were in "the field", so no shade and very little privacy, but other campers were nice. Great trail directly from the Campground to the basin- a series of lovely little waterfalls into pools of clear water among large boulders. We camped at White Birches Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There was a big Razpr (UTV) rally while we were there - heard that there are great trails nearby. Lots of hiking trails in the beautiful White Mountains. Recommend Arethusa Falls and Frankenstein Cliff trails. Cog train or drive to top of Mt Washington is amazing. Bring a Jacket!

Getaway Mountain Campground, Ascutney, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

In addition to nightly rate, you're charged an extra $2/nite if you use your AC. They don't accept credit cards and prefer cash over a check. Lots of seasonal campers occupying preferred spots. Our site was pretty close to the road. Not much grass - so, despite outdoor mats, a lot of dirt got tracked into our camper. Faulty electric hookup required us to move after we were all set up, and caused blown fuses. Staff not very friendly. We camped at Getaway Mountain Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Visit Woodstock - historic town with shopping and nice hiking trails up Mt. Tom. See the Queeche George. Hike Mt. Ascutney. Hartness House is a great place to eat, with lots of history.
