Carter Caves State Resort Park, Olive Hill, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park full of caves and bridges to explore. Some reviews say "internet" but none available. Large campground with many different type of sites. Unfortunately the two clerks that check you in know absolutely nothing about campgrounds or rv's, totally clueless. Reservation tags that expired a week earlier still on the sites. Very poor communicators. We camped at Carter Caves State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

Peaks of Otter Campground, Blue Ridge Parkway (NPS Campground), Bedford, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Small mountain campground. It would be hard to navigate with a 30' or more camper. Very peaceful and clean. We camped at Peaks of Otter Campground, Blue Ridge Parkway (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Williamsburg Campark (formerly Williamsburg Pottery Campground), Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very tired, very big rv park. Years ago probably best around. Hasn't been upgraded in years. The pros. If you don't need bathroom facilities this is the place to be. Fairly good internet. Quiet, peaceful and very roomy. Walmart and strip mall about a mile away. Great home base to visit the historic towns in this area. The manager is very easy to deal with. I would stay here again. We camped at Williamsburg Campark (formerly Williamsburg Pottery Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Assateague State Park, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with mostly dry camping spaces. I didn't appreciate the unadvertised nightly service fee of 6.00. This is not mentioned on their website. I think it is added when making reservations online but we walked in. I didn't see it mentioned on the state site. Right next to the ocean. Take bug spray. We camped at Assateague State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

This is THE park to use while touring DC. Very large park. Very helpful staff with lots of activities in the park. Metro bus comes right to the park. Only con to this park is that it is right next to the beltway. Loud motors and jake brakes. Just turn up the heat or air and drown it out. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00

Nice park. Weak wifi. Helpful staff. Commercial park on the southern end of the Shenandoah National Park. Also 30 minutes to Monticello. This is a large park with a few permanent residents but nicely laid out with lots for any type of camper. We camped at Waynesboro North 340 Campground in a Travel Trailer.
