Bairdsnest Campground, Mentone, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and were very sad when it was time to leave. Campsites are spacious and well groomed. FHU, many shaded sites, NICE bathrooms, owners are on premise and so friendly and caring!!! Easy entry. Front porch on camp store call you to enjoy the rocking chairs. This retired Marine and his wife will make you feel like family! We camped at Bairdsnest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Close to DeSoto Falls, Little River Canyon, Ruby Falls, and more! Enjoyed the eclectic town of Mentone. Fort Payne Walmart close by. Comfortable registration. Wildflower cafe lunch was exceptional.

Wills Creek RV Park, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The park had water problems while we visited which they did their best to fix quickly. After 24 hours, we chose to leave. Our bigger concern was that the park seems to be a location for those looking for long term low cost housing rather than a camping experience. Very nice owners. We camped at Wills Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort), Rockport, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

When the nearby state park was full, we decided to try this small private RV park. Full service and reasonable. Not your typical "resort" but what a nice find. We arrived in the rain and the manager came out in the rain to be sure that we found a site and got in OK. Our site was very wooded and private. Showers were hot and clean. Having a restaurant on site is such a bonus when you've driven all day, park your RV and need a quick bite to eat. We would stay again, without hesitation! We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Big rigs would find the interior campsites pretty tight. There are pull throughs available.
