Hickory Hollow Campground, Rockwood, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a campground for an overnight. RVParkreviews showed this campground and another, close by, to have the same ratings. However, this one was about half the price of the other, so I went for this one. A friendly host, a clean campsite, and nice scenery. However, we did have to travel about ten miles or so, over single lane, country roads until we arrived at the campground. Strong, secure internet and clear cable tv. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Richmond KOA, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

I really liked this park. We arrived midafternoon for an overnight. Our site overlooked a pond and was clean. About two/three minutes from Interstate 70. As others said, the road in was a bit old, but our 28 foot class c had no issue. We didn't encounter any low hanging tree branches that got in the way of our rv. Wifi was okay, not great. We camped at Richmond KOA in a Motorhome.

St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

I was a bit conflicted on how to rate this campground. I get it-you are near Six Flags and on the outskirts of St. Louis, so $65 is the going rate. But then, get rid of the sand in the sites and the old(ish) hook-ups. And, get some secure internet. The campground was easy to get to off of Route 44. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the campground was clean. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Tulsa NE / Will Rogers Downs KOA, Claremore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two days while visiting relatives in Claremore. Clean with wide enough sites. This campground is part of a casino and horse racing track. Clean. I felt safe. Only one tiny, annoying thing-the office did not open until 10:00 am and closed by 6:30 pm. We camped at Tulsa NE / Will Rogers Downs KOA in a Motorhome.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park was bought by the people who own "The Big Texan Steakhouse" about three years ago. I would call this park a work in progress (progress for the better). As of August 2018: the pros - a good price, clean park, friendly staff, good enough wifi, cable TV (if you don't mind using their boxes), a newly remodeled swimming pool, a free (on the hour) shuttle to the Big Texan Steakhouse. The cons: a bit run down looking, we had to go over a curb to pull into our site, the park is not in an ideal location (highway noise and area a tad run down-but I felt safe here). I would come here again, and I believe that the owners are making improvements every year. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight. Very easy access off of Route 40. This park was built three years ago and is part of a casino. Clean and modern, with spacious sites. Office staff was nice. My only "worry" was the wifi was unsecured. I have a vpn, but still, like secured internet. There is nothing (that I could see) to do once you left the casino area. The casino has a swimming pool, a pickle ball court, a volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, and a dog wash. The casino has several places to eat-we ate in our rv, so no idea if the food was any good. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Sedona RV Park, Sedona, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to see Sedona, I don't think you can beat this campground. Clean, spacious enough sites, great internet, and television reception. And, you can walk to the stores in the Tiaquepaque section of town. There is quite a bit of town that is too faraway to walk to, but it was nice to be close to a part of the town. There is also a creek that you can wade/dip in. Pretty neat. We camped at Rancho Sedona RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Goods and bads to this campground. The goods-nice size sites, easy to get to from Route 40. Clean sites that were nicely laid out. Bads-I realize that campgrounds always say they have internet, even when it's sucky, but this internet was awful. Kept knocking me off, even with simple-"just checking email" stuff. And, there were about six, snowy, hard to hear television stations. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

Easy on-off to Route 58. Big, clean laundry room. Cable was included, but many of the channels hard to hear/flickery. This was a clean campground. We camped at A Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A great park for an overnight. Clean, big campground. Internet was not secured, but open. There is a casino within walking distance that had a nice enough buffet. People at the check-in desk were very nice. The campground host and hostess were also very nice. We were told to pick our own campsite. We camped at RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in a Motorhome.

Crescent City / Redwoods KOA, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground while we hiked Redwoods National Park. Crescent City/Redwoods KOA was fine for an "exploration base." I thought it was a bit pricy for our site. Just a typical flat, gravel site. Nothing bad here, just nothing to get excited about. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Elwha Dam RV Park, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground as a base to explore Olympic National Park. The campground hostess was extremely pleasant and willing to help out in any way possible. Our site was roomy enough for us. I did feel that most of the lower numbered sites felt "homier" than the higher numbered sites. The owners of this campground obviously spend a lot of time putting in personal touches, which most certainly add to the overall feel of the campground. Examples-there is a garden, from which you can take food, a free dvd lending library at the office, and oodles of wooden statues scattered around the grounds. Also, there is a strong internet connection. The laundry room was huge and clean, as were the bathrooms. This campground is about a ten to twelve minute drive to Port Angeles and the Hurricane Ridge entrance to Olympic National Park. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Suncrest RV Resort, Moses Lake, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight. Easy access off Route 90. The park was clean, and the office staff was friendly. Something was off with the internet-my computer kept warning me not to use due to safety reasons. I have a vpn, but still, decided to stay off my laptop for the night we were there. We camped at Suncrest RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Missoula KOA, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight, after leaving Glacier National Park. The staff was friendly. Used the laundry room, which was great. Enough washers and dryers and very clean. We also had cable tv, which we hadn't had in two weeks, so that was a nice touch. The campground also offers ice cream in the evening and a buffet breakfast-for a fee. Again, nice if you choose to use these services. There was a swimming pool, and I think, mini golf (not sure if there was a fee for the golf). The park is close to the main strip, which is filled with stores (a busy highway, though so you would have to drive). So, why did I rate this campground a seven? Very close sites and I wondered about the campsites around the perimeter of this campground. They weren't regular campsites. I felt just a tad edgy about them. Probably just me. And, no fire ring at the site, unless you paid extra. We camped at Missoula KOA in a Motorhome.
