Shreveport / Bossier City KOA, Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

First stay in a KOA. Nice selection of parts to fix problems. Very friendly staff. Park was clean and restrooms and pool were clean. Dog park needed repair on agility toys. Having the dog park was a plus as we are traveling with an active hunting dog. Site had patio and picnic table and was very level. Stayed 2 nights in 31' travel trailer. This will be a regular stop when we come through the area. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Roosevelt State Park, Morton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Had to go back to the entry station to ask for a map of park after following instructions given by attendant. Roads are one way inside the park and narrow with hills. We stayed at #37, one of a few pull thru sites. It is a very good site except you had to have extensions for hook ups or go a short way (the wrong way) on one way street. We have 30' TT. Any bigger would be a problem on some of the sites and roads. Older park where some of the camp sites were short, pads cracked and not level. Great thing is that the park is only 5 minutes off highway and very quiet. There were some nice hiking trails but a little over grown. Take bug spray! Stayed one night. We camped at Roosevelt State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rickwood Caverns State Park, Warrior, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Originally gave us site #4, too small, too short and would have been a nightmare to get 30' TT into. Camper on #6 was leaving and we called to get that spot. Used 20 blocks to get level. Very small older park that has nearly gone under. I would be hesitant to stay there w/o making sure they understand the size of your rig. Not site #4 or #5 unless smaller than 21'. We had family about 10 miles away and this was one of few choices in area. Pool is nice and spring feed, $5 per adult, good size. Keeps park open. Did not do the cave, discount if staying there $15 a person seemed too much. Stayed 2 days. Pool nice and cool. Ask for site #6 if available. All sites are downhill off narrow road w/ high ground above road and tight spaces. Some sites have large stumps in between sites (4&5). About 5 mi. off the highway. We camped at Rickwood Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Little Tallapoosa Park, Carrollton, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Free small water park for kids with sprayers and dumping buckets. Book exchange. Great little park only 5 minutes off hwy. Small lake you can walk around thru the woods in about 40 minutes. We are traveling with an active hunting dog and he had a blast walking the woods. He found a rabbit, several squirrels, and a turtle. Gem of a park to stop for the night - a bargain. Very quiet. Drove up on 2 blocks to level on pad and did not unhook 31' TT. Nice park to stop and chill. We camped at Little Tallapoosa Park in a Travel Trailer.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

New very clean, had live music and rib dinner on Saturday evening for $10 a person. Excellent large pool w/ cabanas and loungers- first come, first served. On Saturday for a cabana, grab it early. Excellent level site, we had a site in the lake part where we backed up to woods, quiet and private. About 15 minute drive to historic Savanna, offered shuttle service for fee to connect to trolley. Best service, and cleanest park we had on 3 week trip. They took us to our site and helped direct us into a back-in site in the pouring RAIN! WOW! Excellent park to hike around the lake w/ dog or on bike, doing construction on last part but do able. A lot of activities for kids, ping pong, pool table, pool has a slide and water features. Nice lighted fishing docks, kayak rentals - "Good Ones-Tarpons". We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Walks are at 9 am, with stops for dogs to get water with sample @ end. Bonaventure guided tour excellent, Soul Sisters of the South-close to Bonaventure-excellent Southern cooking $8 a person with dessert. Leapould's ice cream, free dog ice cream cup.

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

It seems this park has recently become part of a larger company. Service has dropped slightly from previous visits. For example - no longer free donuts and rolls in morning. Very nice site with shade. The location is close to a lot of attractions. One of the nicest parks we have stayed - clean, a lot of activities, great dog park and two fishing ponds. We were in site 21 towards the front with a 31' TT for 4 nights. Concrete site w/ picnic table. Our site backed up to Zoo. First night we heard elephant, otherwise, very quiet. Great for travel with an active dog. Lots of shaded area to walk around one of ponds. We camped at Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Point RV Resort, Gautier, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park for price. Site was level enough. We drove up on several blocks and did not unhook. Close to highway-5 minutes. Small pool and resturant. Small picnic table at site. Nice lighted fishing dock and areas to tie up boats. Many people staying here were longer stays with boats. Older large park with a lot of area with shade to walk the dog. We are traveling with an active dog-lots of squirrels for him to point on. There were alligators around the boat docks so I had to watch him there. Good one day stop or to take time to recharge. We camped at Indian Point RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden Treasure RV Resort, Boyce, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice stop for 1 night. Small park on grass w/ full hook ups. Very helpful host. Park has access to a small lake attached to park. Off the highway about 15 minutes, very quiet. We are traveling w/ an active dog and plenty of area to walk him and let him play in the lake. Our site was fairly level, did not unhook. We camped at Hidden Treasure RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

One of our favorite TX state parks. Hiking trails are great, very good job of eliminating most posion ivy. Trails are very good for children and beginning mountain bikers. we camped in 30' TT, 30 amp. . Very good lighted fishing pier. Very good fishing lake w/ 2 other lakes within 30 minute drive. Restrooms were cleaned every morning, spotless. Good variety of size sites. Only drawback was dogs are not allowed in restrooms are fishing pier.
