Colden Lakes Campgrounds, Colden, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park has many improvement since we stayed here 5 years ago. It is well maintained and very picturesque. We stayed a month in the overnight area; most of the sites are seasonal. The owners are very friendly accommodating. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a campground in the Buffalo area, even though it is remote. We camped at Colden Lakes Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are terrific restaurants within a 5 minute drive - gourmet food for a very reasonable price. And it is only a 15 minute drive to East Aurora NY, one of the nicest small town with lots of attractions and great food. There are several parks and hiking trails in the area.

Sparrow Pond Family Campground, Waterford, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Let me begin by saying how KIND the staff is at Sparrow Pond was when I explained our dilemma. Our plans had changed unexpectedly when I fell very ill and the impetus to reach our final destination found us with nowhere to stay over the Memorial Weekend. A lovely staff member went beyond the norm and found a place for us, an overflow space that bordered a work area. We were grateful to find ANY space, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the view behind our rig was spectacular. The campground was filled with families and was really a cheerful place to spend the busy weekend. Kudos to Sparrow Pond and our sincere thanks to the very helpful staff member. You are the best. We camped at Sparrow Pond Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Be sure to eat at Sugar and Spice, an Amish restaurant with good food and generous servings. We each had enough leftover for another dinner.

Mendota Hills Campground, Amboy, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Really not designed for big rigs. We had to disconnect our tow to drive to the pull thru. Once we parked we were delighted with the view of a pond and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. We camped at Mendota Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Whispering Pines Campground, Holmen, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park next to a wilderness area, which creates a BIG mosquito population. Be sure to pack your bug spray. Close to great birding areas. Great walleye fish fries. We camped at Whispering Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

Flying Goose Campground, Fairmont, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

What a delightful discovery. The park is adjacent to Lake Imogene and is tucked away from traffic noise. The weather was rainy and overcast, but we still enjoyed bird watching, discovering 45 species in the park. The grounds and buildings are beautifully maintained. My only complaint would be directed to the seasonal guests who drove onto the very wet grass, creating deep tracks and a mess for the owners to clean up. I would think they would feel more invested in keeping the grounds in good repair. The owners obviously put a lot of effort into keeping this park so beautiful. We camped at Flying Goose Campground in a Motorhome.

Sioux Falls KOA, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The road noise in this park is unbearable. Our rig was parked less than 100' from I 90, and a truck depot is across the street from the park. Road noise 24 hours a day. We could NOT wait to leave. Also, upon arrival I informed rep that our receipt had to include both of our names as we were using the receipt for SD residency. I went on to spell my name. The rep ignored the info and provided a receipt with only my husband's name. I asked her again for a receipt with both names, but she was unable to figure out how to do it. The manager who apparently was the only one with computer savvy, was on the phone with a reservation. The entire process took too long and it was completely unnecessary as I had provided the info before the clerk printed the receipt. Not a good way to start a noisy stay. We camped at Sioux Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Canyon Trail RV Park, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed in our site as we were surrounded by permanent residents that woke us up daily at 5 am with noisy trucks idling despite the rules against such. Spaces are cramped; you share parking space with your neighbor. There is no room to put out a chair, no tables provided. It was cramped and depressing and we did everything we could to block out the environment, shades down, soft music to drown out the neighbors who LOVED playing theirs too loud. We did notice that the 5mph speed limit was enforced - we witnessed a few people screaming at "speeders". There were areas of the park that seemed to have more inviting spaces, but we did not have one. We will NOT return. We camped at Canyon Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kanab RV Corral, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Small park with lots of trees which could prove to be a problem if you want to use your satellite dish. Friendly and helpful owners. Park has road noise during the day, but is surprisingly quiet at night. We will stay here again when we return to volunteer at Best Friends. We camped at Kanab RV Corral in a Motorhome.
