Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park), Gila Bend, Arizona
Date of Stay:
January, 2018 -
$14.00
Overall Rating:
Showers, restrooms are new and the best I have seen at any RV park along with the like new laundry. An off leash doggie area of good size, with grass. All sites are very wide, that's very wide. People drive around in their 4 wheelers. Pool and ranch house gathering area. Wifi is good, slow-not stopped at peak times when park is fuller. Site was $14.00/day+ electric w/KOA discount, monthly rate. We camped at Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.
Little Italy for Italian and pizza, very good. Space Age Restaurant, nothing great but OK. Painted Rock Petroglyphs and an old dam further up the road. Takes the hot water awhile to get to the showers but it'll get there.

Foothills West RV Resort (55+ park), Casa Grande, Arizona
Date of Stay:
December, 2017 -
$46.00
Overall Rating:
Very good RV Resort. Staff are all helpful. Mostly permanent or long stays with only a few pull thru short stays. The only wifi is in their club house with just a little spill over to the park, so if you want Internet bring your own connection. Small but adequate dog fenced in area. Locals mostly walk around park and clean up when necessary. We have stayed here twice and will again as many things are close, Phoenix, Tucson, Gila Bend etc. We camped at Foothills West RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.
Ancient Indian Ruins NP (which is dog friendly) lots of good eating in Casa Grande.

Southern Star RV Park, Van Horn, Texas
Date of Stay:
November, 2017 -
$15.00
Overall Rating:
Park is under new management, 6 wks I think, and they appear to be genuine in their effort to improve the park. I hope so because the first good park here will do well. Wifi was terrible. Stopped often, not slow but stopped, often just disappeared or would drop you. No reason for that these days. All services were pretty clean, showers were really small. There are thorns throughout the park so be careful of and check your pets feet. Roads and all sites are gravel, pretty dusty if someone goes fast. Sites are pretty level. Pretty tight site for 40ft trailer. No room for truck. We camped at Southern Star RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stinson RV Park, Campbell, Texas
Date of Stay:
November, 2017 -
$18.00
Overall Rating:
New park so things are pretty nice and facilities are modern. Employees and owners are very friendly and helpful. Priced very well and they have several discounts available. Entrance is a bit tricky, Mapquest led us down a rabbit hole so check directions first and follow them not GPS, or call ahead. Not positive (but close) on rate given above but was very affordable with Passport discount. Spaces were not, "Spacious" but pretty generous. Glad to see new enthusiasm and new owners. GOOD LUCK! We camped at Stinson RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Lots of things nearby. Ask the owners or employees for recommendations and they will willingly share lots with you in Commerace, Campbell etc.
