Cherokee Campground, Helena, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Owners were very friendly and seemed to work hard to keep the park clean. This park does seem more like a trailer court with mostly permanent renters. We camped at Cherokee Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Spent the night here so I could go to the Birmingham Zoo in the morning. Before hitting the zoo I hiked at the Moss Rock Preserve which was nearby.

Deerlick Creek COE, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived first thing in the morning (15 minutes early in fact) and was able to reserve a site for that night. I wanted to ensure I had a spot before going off to explore the area during the day. Very nice camp host chose a pull thru site near the restrooms but without any neighbors. It was a rainy day and chilly so didn't get to walk the trails as much as I wanted. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Great overnight stay. Due to my GPS I arrived just after dark so Camp host escorted me to site and helped me get backed in. We camped at Chilatchee Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

First thing in the morning I took my dogs for a walk to the end of the road I was camped on. Out in the lake there was an island filled with birds waking up. Amazing to hear what sounded like hundreds or thousands of birds. Especially neat since it was still dark out.
