Mountain View Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I hesitated in writing this review for fear we would never be able to book a spot here in the future, it's just that nice! We initially booked for 6 nights but ended up moving sites twice, just so we could extend for an additional 5 nights.

From potluck dinners to Karaoke night to movie night to Sunday morning breakfast (free) and evening gatherings around a campfire, the owners/hosts have created such a community atmosphere it was all but impossible not to meet and make many new friends. It's our new favorite destination and plan to make many return trips. It was really, really hard to leave this place and all our newly acquired friends, we will return!

Mountain View is a beautiful quiet and convenient location with excellent views, clean bathrooms, great wifi, great cable TV and gracious hosts. While some of sites could use a bit more gravel, they are working on that. We camped at Mountain View Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hiawassee is a great location to explore the numerous small quaint mountain towns and communities of northern Georgia, southwestern NC and eastern TN. Too many things to do and list in this area but can say for sure that this is a great location to enjoy the fall colors. Take a train ride out of Blue Ridge Georgia, visit an apple orchard, hike on the Appalachian Trail or view several of the numerous waterfalls. So many things to do!
