Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground for Florida residents who received a 50% discount off the nightly rate of $28.00. We were on site #10, a pull-through with water and electric, no sewer. Site was not level, had to raise up the door side by 4 inches to get level. Overall park was a good experience. We camped at Lake Louisa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Manatee Springs State Park, Chiefland, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

As another reviewer said it is hard to criticize this campground because of the price. Florida residents receive a 50% discount off the nightly rate. The access roads to the loops are paved, but the loop roads are dirt and seriously need to be graded. Campsites are level for the most part, some paved concrete, gravel and the rest dirt. Magonila loop has full hookup but the sewer connection is useless. It took me awhile to understand why the sewer connection was higher than ground level. If the sewer connections were at ground level and the natural spring overflowed, as it has in past years, the rising water would flood the sewer system. The sewer connection being a foot to a foot and a half higher than ground level makes it difficult to dump your holding tanks. The campground does have a dump station but there again the connection is higher than ground level. There is abundant wildlife to watch and enjoy. We experienced not problems with gnats or ticks. We camped at Manatee Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

TVA Cherokee Dam Campground, Jefferson City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Waterfront sites are very level with a slight decline to the actual camping spot. Sites are high above the actual lakefront generating steep downgrade to the waterfront. Because of the steep grade walking to the lakefront to fish is tiring. The day use area has a nice swiming beach with easy access to and from. Very large boat launch area where several boats can launch at one time. The campground has several bathhouses that are an easy walk from your sites with clean and well maintained facilities. We camped at TVA Cherokee Dam Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Douglas Headwater Campgrounds, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is another TVA campground and is very well maintained and clean. Park rangers are constanly patrolling the campground and will stop by from time to time to say hello and ask if there is anything they can do to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The waterfront sites are level except there are slight declines to the actual camping spot. These declines are nothing to worry. Saw several class A rigs at sites along the lake. We camped at Douglas Headwater Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Douglas Tailwater Campground, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) project that is well maintained and clean. Each site has water and electric 50/30 amp. Very few sites have sewer hook-up mostly your handicap sites. Campground does have a dump station. Campground is located approximately one mile downstream of the hydro-electric Douglas Dam. Many of the sites are directly on the river created by the dam. Good fishing. We will visit this campground again on our travels in Tennessee. We camped at Douglas Tailwater Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Watauga Dam Campground, Elizabethton, Tennessee

Overall Rating:

This is a TVA(Tennesse Valley Authority) campground. Rate is $28.00 per night. With America the Beautiful Senior Pass rate is $20.00 per night. All sites are waterfront with water and 30 amp service. The river created by the dam has excellent trout fishing. This is a small campground, but sites are level, spacious, all back-in. Very beautiful setting with mountains all around. Wildlife of all species. One bathhouse with flush toliets, sinks and shower stalls. Campground is clean and well maintained. This was our second visit and will be added to our list of favorites. Springfield Campground COE, Anderson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate is $26.00. With America the Beautiful Senior Pass rate is $13.00. This is a Corp of Engineer Campground and is very well maintained and clean. Dump station is excellent and you have the ability to dump in either direction. Campground is very quite and sites are located on the lake waterfront. Sites are spacious and nicely spaced. Our site was a back-in and was level. Bathhouse are cleaned twice a day with plenty of hot water for showers. We stayed for seven(7) nights and enjoyed the experience. We would highly recommend this facility. Other reviews mentioned an "Ant" problem, we experienced no such problem. Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast and efficient. We will visit again in the future. We camped at Springfield Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Petersburg COE, Appling, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This is the largest COE campground in Georgia and is very popular with the locals. Reserve your site carefully, as some sites have steep descents to the actual camping location. Power and water is on the wrong side of your rig or trailer. Sites are small but well spaced. If you opt for a pull-through site be prepared to handle the steep descent and steep ascents from the camping spot. Campground roads are paved, but descents and ascents from camping spots are loose stone. Difficult for tow vehicle tires to get a grip. Because of this we will not return. We camped at Petersburg COE in a Travel Trailer.

Big Hart Campground COE, Thomson, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful Corps Of Engineers (COE) campground right on a lake. Easy access to campground, with supermarkets within five miles of campground. Excellent fishing right from your campsite. Georgia fishing license is required. Beautiful campground built years ago, but COE has updated the campsites and amenities. All sites have both 50/30 power and water, however no sewer sites. Campground has two dump stations right and the entrance to the campground. Staff is very friendly and stop by your site from time to time to ensure you have what you need, ask if there is anything they can do to make your stay more enjoyable. If you have an "America the Beautiful Pass" your nightly rate is $13.00 Bathhouses are old but well maintained, everything worked, with plenty of hot water for showers. We will most definitely visit this campground in the future. We camped at Big Hart Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice experience at this campground. We did a two night stay and could not be happier. Staff members were fast and efficient. Check-in was a breeze. Sites are well manicured and very spacious. Campground is big rig friendly. Saw many big rigs enter and exit the campground. They seem to navigate the interior paved roads with ease. Culture center is an interesting place to spend a few hours. We will return to this campground in the future. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Travel Trailer.
