We arrived late - after the office closed. Our name was on the late arrival board with a choice of open sites. We chose #7 which gave some shade from the midday sun but good sunrises and sunsets. We paid up the next morning. Lots of easy walks in the park, and as the lower end is still closed it has become a great roost for the vultures The RV pads are relatively new so everything is clean tidy and well thought out. We watched the hosts clean each site when folks left. They emptied the fire pit, scrubbed the fire grate then raked the gravel areas smooth. This has to be the cleanest state park in Texas. The host maintains a great box of free kindling too. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Travel Trailer.
Food shopping is in nearby Moody. But its in a dry county. If you are looking for beer etc, head for McGregor instead.
