City of Rocks State Park, Faywood, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights while traveling in this area. It's so quiet and pleasant. We were on an end site with water and electric and could look out the door to the rocks and sky. Great place to walk the dog and us. Probably gets crowded on the week-ends but there were available sites both with w/e and without. Camp host was informative about area. We would go back. We camped at City of Rocks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Manzano's RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This Park is unique in the way it is laid out. Not row upon row but each site is almost a private area. The road into the Park is not the best but it's only a short drive from pavement. The owner s are very helpful and friendly. Not far from shopping areas and the old Silver City area. We would stay here again in a minute. We camped at Manzano's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bear Paw RV Park, Eagar, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We were delighted to find this Park in the area. It's quiet, clean and easy in and out. We were here before the Summer regulars so were able to enjoy the quiet. Nice area for dog walks. We plan on going back next Spring and staying for a few days. Would camp here again. We camped at Bear Paw RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Budget RV Park (55+ Park), Apache Junction, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Plain park with no frills. We were assigned to a site that had the sewer hose connection pulled out of the ground. Guess the guy before us got in a hurry. The office staff was quick to re-assign us to another site. Pet walk was ok. We would probably stay here again. We camped at Budget RV Park (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights on a quick trip to the Southern part of Arizona. It's an older park with a lot of permanent residents and snowbirds. It's near I-19 but also the trains, so you hear traffic and trains during the evening. They have a small enclosed pet run that is heavily used. We have stayed here before and will again. The office staff is very nice and when I called to make a slight change in our reservations, they did so willingly. We camped at South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Benson I-10 RV Park, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Only cash accepted and the sewer is a big issue. We stayed here due to the convenience of the location. Gentleman at the office said to walk the dog as little as possible on the park streets as they didn't want coyotes to come into the Park due to the dog "smell." OK, this was a new one to me. The pet walk was filled with garbage and weeds. They do stamp your receipt so you can receive a discount at the Dennys across the highway. We probably would stay here again in a pinch. We camped at Benson I-10 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Apache Gold Casino RV Park, San Carlos, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A blacktop parking lot with hook-ups. The plan is to pick your site, then go to the office (in the gas/market) and register. This is told to you as if you are stupid, but no information anywhere available. Pet walk is nothing but trash and weeds. Loose dogs that belong to the permanents, wander through the area. Probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Apache Gold Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ox Bow Estates RV Park, Payson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pleasant campground that is back from the highway, located in a residential area. We stayed one night this Spring while on a short trip around SE Arizona. There was no set pet walk, but a short walk up the hill leads to an undeveloped area in the juniper trees that has some trails. Manager was very nice and available for any questions. A little pricey but not that many established parks in this area. We camped at Ox Bow Estates RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park, Pratt, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park is a dirt parking lot in the back of the Motel. The front row sites are 13 feet wide. The larger sites in the back two rows were filled with what appeared to be long term residents. We have one slide out and were so close to the unit next door that we could hear their conversations. In this part of Kansas, you are fortunate to have any full hook-up campground, so we were happy to put up with the small space for one night. We would stay here again. We camped at The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small Campground that is in the downtown section of Independence. It is close to the Truman Library and Museum and that is why we chose to stay here. The office staff is friendly and helpful both in checking-in and parking. They have cement parking areas that are adequate to handle bigger units without putting you on top of each other. The doggy run is a nice walk from the parking areas. You do get train noise and sirens but the convenience of location is offset by those. The directions in Trailer Life need to be followed to the letter to find your way in from the freeway. We stayed for two days and by the time we left, we found our own way out and back to I-70. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Road RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This Campground is located so ideally next to I-40 that it must fill every night. We arrived from Texas via US54 about lunchtime and there weren't many RVers parked, but by the evening there weren't any vacancies. It needs a little polish but is adequate for a night's stay. Office staff (one nice lady) does it all. The Wi-Fi wasn't the strongest at out site but cable TV is good. Dog run needs cleaning however: it's the same old story, sorry pet owners not picking up after their pets. We would stay here again without hesitation. We camped at Mountain Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Springfield KOA, Rochester, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This Campground is out of the main roads and noise areas. We wanted to go to the Lincoln Presidential Library and the campground isn't that close to downtown Springfield. The sites are nice and graveled and spaced o.k. There had been a leak in the roof of the laundry and one machine was out of order. Actually looked like the leak had been going on for some time. We asked when we checked in if we could get an open site so we could set up out Direct tv. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. There is a nice doggy run with grass and shade. We would stay here again. We camped at Springfield KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Rouge Campground, Belmont, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park due to the rating in the Trailer Life 2009 and the fact that it was the closest to the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum. I am wondering if the reviewers have even been close to this Park. When we were connecting to the water and electric, we had to dodge dog waste, and the hook-ups were so far from where we were parked that it took all the length of the cord and hose to completely connect. The directions in the TL were only from the South and they are poor. The Manager said for me to write as he had been complaining to no avail. The Office area looks like a junk yard with old vehicles and stuff piled all over. We would never go back. We camped at Grand Rouge Campground in a Motorhome.

Galesburg East Campground, Knoxville, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. The sites are wide and long pull-throughs. Shade trees at every site and grassy areas under the picnic tables. Clean and tidy in the office/store as are the grounds. Staff on duty was helpful and knowledgable about the city of Galesburg. We would stay here again. We camped at Galesburg East Campground in a Motorhome.

Hunt's Cedar River Campground, Tipton, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is an overnight campground that is near the freeway and is noisy. The sites are large and fairly level. We were here in the late Summer so it was not crowded at all. It had good Wi-Fi. The frontage road to get to the campground is a dusty and rough road that leaves your units covered in a fine dust. The owner at the office was very pleasant. We stayed here because it is close to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum. We would stay here again. We camped at Hunt's Cedar River Campground in a Motorhome.
