Justin's Diamond J RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed there for a week and the office was never open (I stopped by nearly a dozen times) nor was there any information on how to contact management or if they would be in the office at specific hours. I have never experienced anything like this. They noted a row to park in until you could be assigned a spot by management. After two days, I just picked a spot. The WiFi code listed was not correct so had to use my cell phone as a hot spot (and will be paying for more data this month because I could not get onto their 'free' WiFi). There was an area for miniature golf and other activities. Putters and balls were there but the Astro turf was so torn up, it was not playable. This RV park is by far the most mismanaged I have been to. We camped at Justin's Diamond J RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tucson Mountain Park is next door. The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum was worth the cost of admission.

Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park), Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very spacious spots. Most have a good sized patch of grass and a tree separating the spots. Very good wifi. The night before I was leaving, I was dumping the tanks as I would leave before the light. One of the workers was leaving for the day and stopped to ask if everything was ok. He said he did not want to leave if I was having problems. Wow, that really impressed me. Cable TV was free. We camped at Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed in the Williow Creek loop and it was very noisy with kids yelling and playing, dogs barking (I have a dog) and adults using outdoor voices late into the evening. It is a family oriented park. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a family, this is a good place. If you are looking for peace and quiet, I would look elsewhere.

Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA (formerly Desert Pools RV Resort), Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Surprisingly, the park was only about 1/3rd full so few RVs were parked on top of each other. Plenty of things like mini golf, shuffleboard, pool, etc. Only drawback I came across was low water pressure which made taking a shower in my RV less satisfying. We camped at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA (formerly Desert Pools RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Joshua Tree National Park is amazing. I did not expect to see millions of Joshua trees.

Apache Palms RV Park, Tempe, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Spaces are very tight with not much room between. Wi-Fi very poor (at 6am I had to use my cell phone hotspot to write this). Location is convenient by light rail but lots of sirens on weekend nights and is also next to an auto repair shop with associated noise. No pet area ... just pavement and gravel; dogs are not supposed to pee on trees. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
