We stayed for 2 nights during the week, and it was pretty chilly, so the park was sparsely filled. The area is absolutely beautiful. 6 miles off of the main road to the park entrance, and no cell service, so it is ideal to get away. The bathroom and shower facilities are top notch. Very clean, tiled, very nice. We stayed in the "B" Loop. Its sites are less close together, and fewer of them, so it is more private. Also, the entire B loop is dog friendly. We stayed in site 190. It was about as far from the bathroom as any site in the loop, but was across from the water spigot. There is a beautiful lake in the middle of the park. Canoes are available for rent or you can bring your own. We camped at Cowans Gap State Park in a Tent Trailer.
There is an overlook on Tower Road a few minutes away from park, and it is amazing. Overlooks several valleys and forests. Provides a great view of fall leave changes. McConnellsburg is close by if you want to go into town, but it is a very small town from what we saw so not too many amenities, but quaint little place.

Generally the park was OK but man oh man were the men's restrooms NASTY! And when they cleaned them it consisted of wiping them down with water or something, but did not include any sort of cleaner. And although they do accept pets, they are not allowed to be walked through the paved portions of the campground, only in designated areas-this severely limits the normal "walking the dog" walks. Oh well, live and learn. I will not be back. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Tent Trailer.
