The campground was nice enough. I had called in advance to assure they had everything we wanted; fire ring, WiFi, etc. We arrived late at night due to snow over the mountains. Our first disappointment was when the water on our site didn't work. Second was there was no place for a fire. Third that the WiFi wasn't functioning. Since it was late we went to sleep to resolve the issues in the morning. When we arrived at the check-in desk I said I had a few complaints. I was promptly told the complaint department was on the other side of the campground (bad joke). After not laughing, we were informed that fire rings cost extra, WiFi was broken and cost extra, but they did get the water fixed right away. For the amount this place charged compared to other places in the area, I would have expected better service without the nickel and diming.

HUGE sites with no extra costs for more then 1 vehicle. There are lot of permanent or near permanent residents at this park and for the most part they have the prime locations. Otherwise it's very quiet and peaceful and everyone was very friendly. If you've stayed in other parks south of San Jose before you know that many are just parking lots trying to squeeze every dollar out of every square foot. This park is different and we would stay here again.

Where to began? We pulled in this park dubious about all the trash, old trailers, and general skid row look to the place. We were shown our site on the water and decided to try to make the best of it. While hooking up we kept getting whiffs of a funky smell and assumed it was coming from the uncapped sewer hookup. After hooking sewer up and still getting a smell we called the camp host over to have a look/sniff. Well he ran some water down the line but afterwards told us the smell was most likely from when the wind blew the wrong way from the cesspool 100 yards farther down the road. Do I have to go on? We tried to ignore it and hoped it would be only momentary, but during the night we (my wife and I) were both woken by a horrible overwhelming methane odor. We hauled out the next morning after paying 1 week in advance. The camp host said "NO" to our refund request. We wouldn't camp even near here again.
