Grande Vista RV Park, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is more permanent residents than campers. There are quite a few park models with some spots for campers. The office person was very friendly. She asked if cable or wifi was more important. Apparently one works better in one part of the park than the other. We chose wifi and it worked great! The park is close to good Safeway (with Starbucks) and an Ace Hardware. Sites are fairly close together so there is some noise. We did a side trip to Bisbee. It's about 1 1/2 hours away and well worth it. We camped at Grande Vista RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you travel to Bisbee, be sure to see the open pit copper mine and continue on AZ80 to Lowell (and eat at the Bisbee Breakfast Club) and Warren (with one of the oldest baseball stadiums in the country.)

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very easy access to I-10. Friendly and welcoming staff in the office. This part of Texas is very dry, so the park is understandably dusty. Power, water, and sewer were well located and worked well. We ordered burgers and fries from the on site cafe and they were delivered to our site in about 10 minutes! WiFi was quite slow. The grass has some burrs, so that is something to watch for as you enter your unit or walk your dogs. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Fredericksburg, Texas KOA, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 nights as our first trip with our 21' Travel Trailer. The site we were given was a pull-through with plenty of room. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The campground was very clean and well taken care of. The showers (4 in each building) were in good shape. Laundry facilities are good. 4 each washers and dryers. There are books, magazines, and even a few DVDs to borrow. The shop has more RV parts than the typical campsite: electrical parts, door locks, window catches.... There are a number of chickens wandering about the grounds and you can buy fresh eggs. We camped at Fredericksburg, Texas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Katy Lake RV Resort, Katy, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Talk about welcoming! We got a call in the morning we were to arrive just to make sure that we had all the information we needed and would not need after hours instructions. The people in the office were very friendly. This is a very nice park. We just stayed 3 nights. This park is in a very suburban area. All the chain restaurants and stores are nearby. There is a "lake"--OK a pond. The WiFi is free and worked very well. Easy access from I-10, wide open entry into park, large pull-through concrete site with full hookups. The park very neat and clean. Laundry facilities are good and the machines take credit cards so you don't need quarters. Hookups were good and everything worked well. We camped at Katy Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Whispering Meadow RV Park, Westlake, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park. We just stayed 2 nights. It seems to be mostly "permanent" campers. There are a few open sites. Ours was convenient, but a bit noisy from the traffic on the highway. Easy access from I-10, wide open entry into park, large pull-through concrete site with full hookups. The park very neat and clean. The shower area is small but clean. Hookups were good and everything worked well. We camped at Whispering Meadow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Reunion Lake RV Resort, Ponchatoula, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

This new and large RV resort has easy access to I-10. Check-in was easy. We had a reservation and were given a discount for Good Sam. There was an extra charge of $14 for the 3 nights we were there. All the roads are concrete and sites have concrete pads with very convenient hookups. The bathhouse/shower had a number of private rooms for showering as well as 4 washers and dryers in the laundry room. It was quiet and peaceful. There's also a gas station and Sonic at the entrance to the park. We camped in a Travel Trailer. We camped at Reunion Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We spent the better part of a day in Pontchatoula. We ate at the Corner Café. The food was excellent and the beignet bite (stuffed) were a treat. The downtown street is fun to walk and there are a number of friendly businesses and antique shops.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. We paid $142 for 3 nights with the Good Sam discount. The laundry, toilets, and showers work well and are clean. Full hookups are properly located and worked as expected. WiFi worked well. Sprint service had 2-3 bars. This campground is right across from Graceland. Good security presence. The only negative would be the mud. The sites were gravel and level but the gravel level was a bit low and so it was soggy and muddy around the camper. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a 21' Travel Trailer.
