Tips for other Campers:

Great swimming areas, large lake for boating/fishing/kayaking/water skiing. Sites are little close, and pretty much zero shade available, but the lake makes up for it tenfold. Very popular park for family gatherings, not much to do in the surrounding area.

Daniel Boone National Forest (Twin Knobs Recreation Area), Morehead, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

There are 10 loops, many have no electricity at all. We stayed in H, with electricity. Water is between sites, although a few sites throughout the park have water and electric on site. Be prepared with water jugs, or lengthy hose to fill your water tank. The water available is shown on the park map, scattered throughout the park. We are in a pop up camper and were fine walking to the water faucet to fill our 8 gal water jug. The staff was very friendly, and worked hard at keeping the sites in order and restrooms clean. We camped at Daniel Boone National Forest (Twin Knobs Recreation Area) in a Tent Trailer.

Piney Grove COE, New Site, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park on the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway. There are 141 sites, the bulk with views of the lake. We were on site 96 right on the lake, with launch access for our kayaks. The sites are all paved, and fairly level, and most have been recently updated with gravel picnic areas and all are mostly shady. Sites have decent distance between them . The bath houses were are exceptionally clean and very well maintained. You can tell the park was built many years ago, but it remains in excellent condition. No hiking trails in the area, but the lake (when it's not too windy) is a lot of fun to kayak. There is laundry available in the park. Each loop has a nice shower house/bathroom. This lake is great for boating/fishing/kayaking. Little to no Verizon cell signal- enough for phone calls and text only. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Tent Trailer.
