Town & Country RV Park and Campground, Savage, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Town & Country Campground is a fairly small RV Park that is conveniently located near the events and attractions of the Twin Cities. I stayed there for several days while I visited friends and family members and attended several events. The owners and staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. My site was the perfect size for my Class B Campervan although the sites are fairly close together. There are other sites that are much larger and I saw everything from tents to large 5th wheel trailers. The site surface was gravel and crushed rock and I did not need to do anything to level my van. I appreciated the military discount and the great location. We camped at Town & Country RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Gooseberry Falls State Park, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

I occupied a campsite with no hookups which was fine with me. The site was large enough for my Class B Camper Van with plenty of privacy. I was parked very close to the comfort station which is an updated building constructed by a CCC crew in the 1930s. There was plenty of hot water and the facility was very clean. This park has beautiful views of Lake Superior and the lovely Gooseberry Falls. There are many miles of trails, both paved and primitive. I fortunately did not encounter any problems with mosquitoes or ticks, although I hear they can be pretty bad at other times of the year. I am already planning a return trip to this beautiful state park. We camped at Gooseberry Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Koreshan State Historic Site, Estero, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Another very nice Florida State Park. My site was reasonably private with what looks like a fairly new electrical post (30 amp for me), water spigot, picnic table, and a fire ring. I drive a class B camper van without slides. A larger RV would find this a pretty tight space. This was a level site with a dirt surface. Because of recent rains, it was slightly muddy but I think it drains pretty quickly. A layer of crushed rock would have helped. The highlight of this park is the Historic Site donated to the state by the Koreshans. I took a very interesting self-guided tour which I highly recommend. Due to an impending tropical storm, I cut my visit short, but I would return again under better weather conditions. We camped at Koreshan State Historic Site in a Motorhome.

Three Flags RV Campground, Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Three Flags RV Resort is very close to The Villages (a huge 55+ community with lots of entertainment, restaurants, shopping, etc) and it is very close to Highway 75. Other than that, there's not much to do within walking distance. This resort has a few nice amenities like a newly remodeled swimming pool and a recreation building that looks pretty nice. However, now that most of the snowbirds have left for the summer, this park is really quiet. There are many long-term sites occupied but most of the short-term sites were empty. The outdoor activities here are really limited. There are several comfort stations, a laundry room, and staff members seem to be friendly and responsive. This location is fine if you use it to park your RV while you explore Central Florida attractions. We camped at Three Flags RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park, Keystone Heights, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed in the Sandhill Caming Area over three days. The sites in this section are large and generally level. The access road is paved, the sites are hard-packed sand. The sites are private and quiet. There are several hiking opportunities although the rainy weather prevented me from doing much hiking. There were several OTA TV stations available and Verizon worked well most of the time. I look forward to a return visit to take advantage of hiking through this very large state park. We camped at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park in a Motorhome.
