Fort Clinch State Park, Fernandina Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Driving down the state park road towards the campground is like driving into a fantasy land. There is a canopy of live oaks with Spanish moss swaying in the breeze. Be careful as you drive as a few limbs are low or close to side of the road. In a couple places we had to drive in the middle of the road. There are 2 campgrounds here we stayed at Amelia River. This is beautiful and shaded with many trees. Short walk to beach but no swimming as current is swift. You can however fish, collect shells, or sunbathe. The Atlantic campground is a newer section right near a swimming beach. There are no live oaks here but there are a few palm trees so there is little shade. We camped at Fort Clinch State Park in a Motorhome.

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Long drive into park and campground. Parking space by office to check in for RV's is pretty much non existent. There are no markings on main road to designate which site numbers were down which road. We were instructed to count the roads. Some of the sites appear level ours is not. This is the first time I've seen a campground where the RV camping is horizontal to the road. Hookups are next to road. Site is gravel and there is a picnic table. Site is heavily wooded with oak trees which are raining down acorns on our RV, hopefully no damage. Would not come back. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Harrisburg East Campground, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

2 night stay on way down south. Campground is next to highway so there is road noise louder the closer you are too it. There is a military base close by so occasional fly overs. We were told that Air Force one does touch downs here at times. Site gravel, level, flat with full hook ups. Lots of trees for shade. Pool is still open. Staff friendly and helpful. We camped at Harrisburg East Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We specifically stayed here to go to Hershey World and the free factory tour. In Hershey is also Hershey Gardens and the North American Zoo. We got discounted admission with our Detroit Zoo Membership and membership at Tohono Chul Gardens. We found that in Harrisburg that there is the National Civil War Museum. There are many civil war sites within an hours drive such as Gettysburg.

Frances Slocum State Park, Wyoming, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely follow Campground instructions and not GPS. We stayed on Site 48 for an over night stay. Site is spacious, wide, and level. Water spigot next to site. Though Reserve America states water on most sites there are not water hookups just spigots located throughout the park. You can use a hose at the dump station to fill fresh water tank. Beautiful treed site and park is quiet. The Lake looks beautiful but we did not have time to enjoy it on this trip. Would come again. We camped at Frances Slocum State Park in a Motorhome.

Happy Acres Campground, Angola, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park off of I 69. Road to campground partially with new asphalt rest old and a bit bumpy. There some long term stays here and their sites are neat, clean, and well landscaped. Place is very clean though a bit dated. We were escorted to our site by a very nice employee. We had a pull through site for the night. Place has some road noise from I 69 but other campers were quite. Would definitely recommend staying here. Oh and did I mention that they have an inground pool! Great to cool off in after a long day on the road. We camped at Happy Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Ceraland Campground, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed on site #1 on lake. Close to walkway to pool and playground. The lake has a lot of green algae. Our site is wide and level with gravel base. However not all sites are level. Along the lake electric and water hookups only. Electric is fluctuating low and high power surges. Come back every day to flashing electric. The cover is off of electric post. We reported it but they didn't fix it. Reported problems with electric. Trap and skeet shooting close and you can hear on site but it's intermittent. $2 fee for first trip into park and for guests. Go cart track onsite must bring own go cart. RC airplane field. Fishing for free in lake. Miniature golf course and swimming pool. Extra charge for most extras such as swimming. We camped at Ceraland Campground in a Motorhome.

Manistique Lakeshore Campground, Manistique, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground! One year old park well laid out lots of room between spaces, room for 2 cars at each site. Sites paved and level, shaded. Nice fire ring and picnic table. Bathrooms are extremely clean always people in cleaning. Individual large shower rooms. One large family shower/bathroom. Only downside is sawdust that washes up on beach. In the late 1800's the lumber companies dumped 50 million tons of sawdust in the lake. It is still washing up. Some days better than others. Very close to lots of places to see and things to do. Indian Lake State Park is close with a warm shallow lake for swimming and boating. There are several places close along highway to pull off and swim in Lake Michigan. We camped at Manistique Lakeshore Campground in a Motorhome.

Illinois Beach State Park, Zion, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not impressed with stay here. Positives, level gravel site that is shaded with lots of space between sites. Negatives, bathrooms unkept with dead insects on walls and screens. 2 showers in women's bathroom. One appears to be handicapped or family. Someone was washing their dog in that one. Noted no signs prohibiting pets in bathrooms. The other shower is very small. Showers are push button with no options to regulate temperature. Beach area is not very big and is rocky. At 8pm there were announcements over loudspeaker for beach area to be vacated. Parking area unkept and looks like grass hasn't been cut all season. Abandoned concession stands kind of spooky. Paved walking trails. Would not go back. We camped at Illinois Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

El Paso-West RV Park, Anthony, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

RV's are right on top of each other. When neighbor wasn't home his dog barked at long intervals. When he came home he put dog on a tie out that reached our door! We had to shut our windows and turn on our air as neighbor was also smoking a cigar right outside our RV. Very glad this is only a one night stay! Too close for comfort. We camped at El Paso-West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Economy Inn & RV Park, Ozona, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Had a very pleasant overnight stay here. It has just basics for overnight stay lot is immaculate, there are hookups electric, water and cable TV. I got a Good Sam and a senior discount. Pretty much a gravel lot but sites are pull through easy in and out. Felt very safe here. It's between the Quality Inn and Economy Inn across is a small industrial area. A few blocks down is a neighborhood with beautiful homes from the 1900's. There were two trailers looked like long term stays (they had full hook ups) otherwise lots of overnight guests like us. Managers at Inn very nice. We camped at Economy Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.
