Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park, Grass Valley, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with good RV spots. We stayed in the full hookup area as we were using it as a base camp for bicycling in the area, but there are some nice spots in the trees with water and power if you don't want to be right on top of your neighbor. They are making improvements to the lake/pond and it is looking good. Fun to stroll around and watch the geese and ducks. No picnic table or fire pits but you can rent them for your stay. I think they are 20.00 each. The fire pit rentals are propane. Sites are big and roads are easy to navigate. We will stay here again when we come back to the area. The manager called us as we would be arriving after the office closed and gave us detailed instructions of how to get to the site and check in. Very thoughtful. We camped at Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Weed Heights RV Park, Yerington, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We really like this park. It's super quiet and mellow. We have a jeep and were able to go explore right out of the campground. The host are very nice and friendly. The park is nothing spectacular, but it is quiet, clean and convenient. If you are looking for a park with hookups and a peaceful location this is it. Yerington is a quick drive to the East and the West is wide open jeep trails to Carson City and beyond. We camped at Weed Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Walker River Resort, Smith Valley, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay! Big sites, staff is very nice, off road trails right from camp. It's a fun camp ground with lots to do. If you are looking for peace and tranquility try Weed Heights Campground, as this is a little more fun group. Nothing obnoxious, but it does have motorcycles and ATV's coming and going all day. I hear the pool is nice, but have yet to come in the summer. We go once every spring and fall. We have a 32 foot motorhome towing a jeep. We camped at Walker River Resort in a Motorhome.

Whispering Elms Campground, Baker, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Tried to stay at the GBNP campground but it was full and only the lower campground was open, April 6, 2018. Went back to Baker to see if we could get in here, as we stayed here a few years back and really liked it. We were able to get a back-in spot for the night with full hookups. This time was better then the last. We were in the back corner of the campground and it was amazingly quiet. As quiet as the Dead Horse Point Campground we stayed at the week before. Great campground! Great manager! We didn't go this time but the bar is a fun place to get a drink and relive your youth (without all the drama). I will be back! We have a 32 foot motorhome towing a jeep. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

Moab KOA, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

First it's Moab and the highway goes right through the center of town, so it will be noisy. The quietest time of the day was noon to two, as everyone is out of town doing things. Lots of big rig traffic at night. Deal with it! The campground is great. Good sites, the showers were fantastic, great laundry facility that I used the first day. We stayed three nights. The pool was still under construction but looks to be very nice. Check in was good, though lots of people check in before check-in time...lol. The store and gift shop are well stocked. Beautiful views as is all of Moab, but my favorite thing was the bike wash and repair area. It has all the tools you need including a floor pump that will set the bead on a tubeless bike tire. Awesome! Remember you are in Moab proper, so I'm rating this against the other campgrounds in town and not that ideal out of the way retreat. What are you waiting for? Get to Moab! Stayed in a 32 foot motorhome towing a jeep. Cable works well too! We camped at Moab KOA in a Motorhome.

Dead Horse Point State Park, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed four nights in a moterhome with the family. Brought 20 gallons extra water but didn't need it the family steped up and conserved water and used the park restroom a lot. Very clean and nice. Site was perfect with my son sleeping in a tent. Lots of space and had campfires every night. Wood available at visitor center. Super quiet! Stayed in Moab for a few nights after....too noisy. Next time full week at DHPSP. We camped at Dead Horse Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Wendover KOA, West Wendover, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed the night on the way to Moab. Only seven rigs in the park. Very quiet and the showers were great! Nothing special but got the job done well. Would definitely stay there again. Pull through didn't have to disconnect the toad. We camped at Wendover KOA in a Motorhome.

Washoe Lake State Park, Carson City, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground and for the beginning of March it was not very crowded with only about 12 sites taken. There were even people tent camping and the rain did not scare them off. The lake is full and the scenery is magnificent! Very quiet campground and very relaxing, as dry camping should be. We camped at Washoe Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Sunset (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

It's very nice for a parking lot. We love that we can always go to Death Valley and not have to worry about having a reservation. We stayed in the main part of the campground over Presidents Day Weekend. Got there Saturday mid-day and had lots of open spots. They had to open up the overflow late Saturday, but only had about six sites were used. Walking distance to the visitor center and the bike path to the Borax Works is a fun place for a morning run. We camped at Sunset (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Brown's Owens River Campground, Bishop, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great dry camping campground on the Owns River. Huge sites and amazing views. If you want trees stay away. If you want amazing views camp here. You have to experience it to appreciate this campground. May not be for everyone, but it is for us and we have been coming every Labor Day Weekend for over ten years. Mammoth has too many things to do and we never get to do them all. We camped at Brown's Owens River Campground in a Motorhome.
