French Creek State Park, Elverson, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Off-season stay, so no attendant at checkin booth. Reservations made online. Detached toad so we could drive through park to find our site before moving our coach. Roads are tight coming in to park, but manageable. Site was smaller than expected, but fairly easy to level. 50 amp and sewer worked fine, water pressure a little low. Ranger arrived shortly after we got in, very courteous, explained a few rules and was gone. Loop C was very quiet, but that probably changes when full season hits. Large trees in this loop make site selection critical if you want satellite reception. Ours (#1) was fine. Did not utilize other park amenities this trip. Overall, French Creek met our needs for the visit we were on. We camped at French Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Lots of historical sites in this area, and a nice lake/picnic area for families with younger children. Do your grocery shopping before you get to the park.

Clay's Park Resort, Canal Fulton, Ohio

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Huge park with high percentage of permanent residents. Local schools, businesses and organizations bus kids for picnics and day use of park's water park, which is very nice but crowded. Escorted to site, which is necessary if you've never been here before. Due to size and use of park by non-campers it is noisy and rules are not consistently enforced. Site had drainage ruts, severe incline made it impossible to get level. We stayed so our grands could enjoy the swimming pools and water park. Snack bar was large and expensive. We camped at Clay's Park Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of traffic at all hours, quiet time rules not enforced. Permanent residents allowed to "decorate" to their taste, so it gives some areas of the park a different feel.

Lazy K Campground, Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights due to need to be close to a family function. Other parks in area were full. Older park with mostly permanent residents. Staff was friendly and reasonably helpful, but the park itself needs vast improvements. Here to attend family matters in Philadelphia, did not do any leisure activities. Lower section of park was only half full, so parking for toad off my site wasn't a problem. Trash dumpster stayed full and campers left bags on top of or around it. Based on overall conditions of park, we did not use bath facilitijes or look for laundry facilities. We camped at Lazy K Campground in a Motorhome.

Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate is based on 1 month stay. True resort style park with excellent amenities including two pools, private lake, clubhouse with fitness center and organized social activities. Easy access to resort from major highways, but it is quiet at all times. Easy entry spacious sites with top notch FHU and good water pressure. Cable works great, good wifi, and satellite reception. Level, paved sites long enough for our coach and toad. Office personnel are friendly , helpful, and efficient. Great selection of restaurants, entertainment, and sightseeing in the area. An abundance of RV related businesses and services in the area provide mobile service at the resort. We have not used the bath or laundry facilities, but everything at this place is maintained well and kept clean. Daily trash pickup at each site is a nice feature. We will stay here again if vacationing in the area. We camped at Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Delaware Seashore State Park, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 5 nights to attend Jazz Festival. Great location with scenic views and easy drive to many local restaurants. Rained quite a bit while we were there, and there was standing water on many sites and interior roads. Ours was ok. Park office is in north campground, and there is a marina there too. Restaurant and lodge across rt 1, a busy highway. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Abundance of seafood restaurants in the area, as well as shops and sightseeing/activities. Head south to Bethany for dining, north to Rehoboth for shopping. Dover Downs race track/casino about an hour north. Traffic can be heavy, so allow extra time.

Pier-Lon Park, Medina, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff, easy check in. Led to site by owner. Park is very quiet and rules are enforced. Grounds are kept very nicely by staff. Bath house is older but clean and well maintained. Nice lake with beach, lifeguard, floating dock, and paddle boat. Grands enjoyed the snack bar, playground, and safe biking around the park. Mixture of permanent and seasonal campers. We enjoyed our stay and extended it without having to move.Park is in a semi-rural area and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Did not feel the need to venture out for food or entertainment, just spent time with our grands. We camped at Pier-Lon Park in a Motorhome.
