Punderson State Park, Newbury, Ohio

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Off season stay, so campground office was not open on our arrival. Campground employee came by our site on day 2 to make sure all was in order. Getting level on our site was a challenge, but we were prepared after reading several other reviews. Grounds are well kept, and facilities are older but functional. Numerous restrooms, shower house, and laundries are spread throughout the park. Great park to walk trails or streets. Fishing, boating, golf were available even in off-season. Park was quiet in evenings. We would return, but make sure to carefully select our site. We camped at Punderson State Park in a Motorhome.

We took advantage of low occupancy and did lots of walking throughout the park., with quiet nights by the campfire. Visited nearby town of Chagrin Falls. Very charming, with lots of dining and shopping options. We came looking for R&R and we found it.

Courteous and efficient staff at check in. Nice park store at office. We did not use any amenities here, just parked, hooked up, and drove toad to Chattanooga to join friends. Park was quiet during sleeping hours. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

We spent all of our time in Chattanooga. Great restaurants and things to do.....needed more time! The Incline ride and Lookout Mountain were spectacular, and the hop-on trolley tour was a good way to get around the city.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

Very courteous staff, easy check-in. Grounds are clean and well kept. Amenities are great and are being expanded. Layout of the resort makes it easy for large rigs to navigate. We rented an RV site and a cabin for our group. Everyone enjoyed their stay, and the close proximity to Savannah. All utilities worked well, except the WiFi, but AT&T had a strong 4G signal in the resort. Would definitely return to Creekfire if we are back in the area. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Motorhome.

East Harbor State Park, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Quick and easy check-in, especially for a state park. Roads were easy to navigate and sites clearly marked. Good level site with decent green space. Utilities were solid. We enjoyed this park because it offers wonderful biking paths and lanes as well as a beach, fishing areas, and great scenery. It's a great location to use as a base to use as a base to visit the many attractions on Lake Erie Shoreline. We plan to return so we can do the things we didn't have time for this trip. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.

Buckeye Lake / Columbus East KOA, Buckeye Lake, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Weekend stay to attend a chapter meeting. Office personnel friendly and efficient, led us to our site. Clean ad level site with good amount of shade. Gravel sites very close together. Water pressure on the low side. Noise levels were high until about 10:30pm, but that's to be expected at a KOA that caters to young kids. We enjoyed the pavillions for our gatherings and the on-site restaurant for breakfasts. We camped at Buckeye Lake / Columbus East KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A creek dissects a portion of the park and there was standing water smell and mosquitoes for sites along the creek. Sites are too close together to make use of the fire rings provided. Overall the staff and camping atmosphere were very friendly and the children campers had plenty to do. Pizza Cottage for good wings and pizza. Whit's for ice cream. Buckeye Lake is undergoing major improvements and will be a gem when completed.

Indian Creek RV & Camping Resort, Geneva, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Mid week stay prior to the July 4th holiday. Resort is huge and very well maintained. Shower houses throught the park include mini laundry, sitting area, and are air conditioned. They are very clean and spacious. Amenities are numerous and nearby attractions make this park attractive for all types of campers. The park filled up on the night before we left, and the noise level increased but was not too bad. Hands down would choose this place over other parks in the area. We camped at Indian Creek RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

My wife and her friend enjoyed shopping at the numerous choices in downtown Geneva-on-the-Lake. Very walkable town. Good restaurant choices too. Wonderful lake view vistas and public areas throughout the area. Town can get congested, but free parking is available on the street and local parks. If you're camping with kids or grandkids, they'll love Indian Creek.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

Very large park, but very organized and very clean. Office personnel are courteous, professional, and efficient. We arrived in pouring rain and they arranged an escort to our site. They can justify their price due to services and amenities offered, as well as proximity to Washington DC and the myriad of tourist sites it has. Electric, sewer, and cable were solid. Water pressure was a bit low. The free wifi was amazingly consistent for a park of this size with so many users. The cafe is not fancy, but reasonably priced with decent food. Our section was full, but very quiet, and with all of the rain we experienced no problems with drainage or standing water. Will return to this park the next time we are in the DC metro area. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

KV'S RV Camping and Storage, Hartselle, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Traveling north on I-65 after a month in Orange Beach, AL. This campground is easy and quick to get to off the interstate. Never saw the owner or any employee. Honor system used to put cash or check in drop box and pick your site. Sites close together, many permanent residents with some in poor condition. Two near us were doing major repairs on their trailers while we were there, a bit noisy. All utilities were good, and cell reception was strong. Did not use bath or laundry facilities. We camped at KV'S RV Camping and Storage in a Motorhome.

French Creek State Park, Elverson, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Off-season stay, so no attendant at checkin booth. Reservations made online. Detached toad so we could drive through park to find our site before moving our coach. Roads are tight coming in to park, but manageable. Site was smaller than expected, but fairly easy to level. 50 amp and sewer worked fine, water pressure a little low. Ranger arrived shortly after we got in, very courteous, explained a few rules and was gone. Loop C was very quiet, but that probably changes when full season hits. Large trees in this loop make site selection critical if you want satellite reception. Ours (#1) was fine. Did not utilize other park amenities this trip. Overall, French Creek met our needs for the visit we were on. We camped at French Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Clay's Park Resort, Canal Fulton, Ohio

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Huge park with high percentage of permanent residents. Local schools, businesses and organizations bus kids for picnics and day use of park's water park, which is very nice but crowded. Escorted to site, which is necessary if you've never been here before. Due to size and use of park by non-campers it is noisy and rules are not consistently enforced. Site had drainage ruts, severe incline made it impossible to get level. We stayed so our grands could enjoy the swimming pools and water park. Snack bar was large and expensive. We camped at Clay's Park Resort in a Motorhome.

Lazy K Campground, Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights due to need to be close to a family function. Other parks in area were full. Older park with mostly permanent residents. Staff was friendly and reasonably helpful, but the park itself needs vast improvements. Here to attend family matters in Philadelphia, did not do any leisure activities. Lower section of park was only half full, so parking for toad off my site wasn't a problem. Trash dumpster stayed full and campers left bags on top of or around it. Based on overall conditions of park, we did not use bath facilitijes or look for laundry facilities. We camped at Lazy K Campground in a Motorhome.

Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate is based on 1 month stay. True resort style park with excellent amenities including two pools, private lake, clubhouse with fitness center and organized social activities. Easy access to resort from major highways, but it is quiet at all times. Easy entry spacious sites with top notch FHU and good water pressure. Cable works great, good wifi, and satellite reception. Level, paved sites long enough for our coach and toad. Office personnel are friendly , helpful, and efficient. Great selection of restaurants, entertainment, and sightseeing in the area. An abundance of RV related businesses and services in the area provide mobile service at the resort. We have not used the bath or laundry facilities, but everything at this place is maintained well and kept clean. Daily trash pickup at each site is a nice feature. We will stay here again if vacationing in the area. We camped at Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wind Creek Casino RV Park, Atmore, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We were in route to Orange Beach for a month long stay. Had time to kill before our March 1 check in, so we decided to spend 2 nights at Wind Creek. Pleasantly surprised at low cost and amenities. Park itself is new, so no shade trees. Grounds and bath houses were immaculate. It was quiet at night, all utilities worked well. Walking distance to casino, which also featured reasonably priced restaurant, bowling alley, movie theater, Spa, arcade, and pool. Not a park for extended stays, unless you are an avid gambler, but it definitely met our needs as a stopover point. Would definitely stay here again.
