Adirondack Gateway Campground and Lodge, Cold Brook, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet with that "Adirondack Feeling." Site was level with good electric and sewer hookups. Fun hiking down to the small ponds and lean-to. Had fun on the driving range. Nice look out over the mountains. Pool was small but solar heated and nice. Bathrooms/Showers were clean. Owner was nice. Hayride for kids. Rec Room could use some straightening up, but had a nice pool and Ping Pong table. Small store. Entrance could use some sprucing up for curb appeal. I would camp here again. We camped at Adirondack Gateway Campground and Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Letchworth State Park, Castile, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice Campground, nice sites, beautiful canyon, would definitely go back but beware if you have a second car. They charged me $6.00 at the gate to the park and they only take cash. They would not let me into the park to get money from my husband and were very unhelpful and non-caring. They should have told us when we made the reservations. I had to leave and drive around to find an ATM. I thought this was shabby treatment to a registered guest. They should have sent me to the campground entrance and let me pay by credit card. We camped at Letchworth State Park in a Travel Trailer.
