George L. Smith State Park, Twin City, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first camping trip and we had a fabulous time. The views were wonderful. The first turn into the campground is a bit hard, but doable with a 36 foot TT. Our site #22 was nearly perfect. The fishing wasn't great and there were no boats to rent (while park is doing maintenance and upgrades) but that was fine. If using the picnic area via vehicle is important to you - call to check if the gate is closed. Staff were very nice. No one was loud. Pets were all under leash/owner control. We will return! We camped at George L. Smith State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

You can buy bait (crickets and worms) at Mill Pond Trading Post (8 George L Smith State Park Rd, Twin City, GA 30471) They also have breakfast, necessities. There's a Walmart in Swainsboro along with a lot of fast food and other stores. Check out the "Woodpecker Trail" for ideas on things to do in the area. We found out about it by accident and hope to explore it further next trip.
