Killens Pond State Park, Felton, Delaware

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

GPS took us to the park entrance, but the campground is on the other side of the pond. Signage could be better. Campground was nearly full, but very quiet and peaceful. Kids trick or treating through the campsites, better behaved and better costumes than at home. Nice walking trails, shaded and level lots. Will definitely be back, Delaware has awesome State parks. We camped at Killens Pond State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

All the sites seemed to have very heavy tree cover. Didn't bother us, but solar or satellite might be a problem. A loop is right next to the activity field and pavilion. It was quiet during our visit but might be louder during peak season. Nice hiking trails around the pond.

North Beach Campground, Burlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The location is great, right on the lake in a nice wooded area. Might be odd when school is in session. The site was hard to find, no directional signs in camp and the cartoon map they give you isn't very accurate. Site was ok, but had to back down the road and back into the site. A larger trailer would've had trouble. Our section had the trailers pretty much as row homes, very close. Other sections seemed more spacious, but they've used every available spot for a tent or RV site. There was even a small tent site right behind the restroom. Wi-fi was good enough to run Netflix on our TV. Even with a full campground and being so close it was quiet at night. We camped at North Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Burlington is a great town to visit. Shelburne winery and Magic Hat brewery are not far away. Shopping on church street, Ben and Jerrys in Waterbury about 40 minutes away. And the campground is right on the lake, with a beach for swimming.

Camp Taylor Campground, Columbia, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Mixed emotions about this campground: Beautiful spot, site was great and backed up to woods and a little stream. Quiet hours start at 11 PM, and other campers were blasting music and making lots of noise up until 11. We go camping for the peace and quiet, and this was awful. Maybe they could have a set aside "quiet area" for those of us who don't go camping to party loudly. Power went out twice, and water went out once. Not long, about an hour or so each time, but it was a little frustrating. Site was not level. I used several boards to try to level the RV but still had a lean on it. Follow the written directions to get there. We did and had no trouble at all. We camped at Camp Taylor Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We wandered to the wolf preserve... saw deer in the pens, but no actual wolves. A little disappointed, but we weren't around for the wolf tour. There is a winery down the road towards Rt 80 that looks nice but we didn't stop there.

Worlds End State Park, Forksville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

On the positive: Beautiful park, good privacy in site, great state park with hiking, fishing and swimming in the creek, absolutely no cell signal. Great views from the tops of the mountains. Negative - no water in site (should've looked closer during booking), power went out (briefly), no one staffing the park and had to drive down the road to the ranger station, absolutely no cell signal. We camped at Worlds End State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Elk Neck State Park, North East, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park, and great layout for peace and privacy. Not great for meeting your neighbors though, as the sites face away from the road. You end up camping behind your trailer. Still very nice. Very spotty cell phone coverage. We had to walk to the store to get any T Mobile service, none in the site. A little buggy, but not excessive. Some sites may be difficult for larger trailers to get into. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $128.00
Overall Rating:

The park was clean and the service was good. Restrooms were clean and maintained, except near the marina. The only downside was that the park has no dump station, so we had to find a fuel stop on the way home to dump our tanks. For the price paid I would expect them to be available. Make sure to get a full service site when you check in or you'll leave with full tanks. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
