Sheridan / Big Horn Mountains KOA, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This has become one of our favorite KOA campgrounds. We stayed here going and coming last October, but found it every bit as accommodating in June, even with the increased number of campers. There is no cable TV, but you can get the major networks very clearly. Space is ample, shade is available, and all the staff we have dealt with nice and competent. We camped at Sheridan / Big Horn Mountains KOA in a Motorhome.

Area's Finest Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay in a Good Sam Park as there is no KOA in Ogallala. We saw the sign from the highway and decided to check it out. The owner, very friendly, indicated we would be comped for the night by joining Good Sam which we decided to do for the flexibility. The shower house was clean but old style. We were parked near it on the treed part of the park, away from highway noise and other campers. The air smelled very sweet, all in all an enjoyable stay. Cable worked great. We camped at Area's Finest Country View Campground in a Motorhome.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We changed our route to avoid storms and still ended up pulling into this park during a tornado warning. Staff was great, and facilities adequate as we spent a somewhat wet and windy night. The park is not particularly scenic but we would stay here again. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

Douglas KOA, Douglas, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The best part about this park was the endless hot water in the showers. It felt like camping at an RV parking lot, no shade or atmosphere. One staff member was training, and while nice, was not quite to the level of competence yet. The person doing the training seemed to be having a bad day or needing her own vacation. We would only stay here again in a pinch, not by preference. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Motorhome.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this park, our first stay here. Shade was ample, we were able to walk and to ride our bikes. The setting was very scenic and staff friendly. Unfortunately the hot tub heater was broken, but staff very apologetic and were working on the problem they had just discovered. We camped at Billings KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park. When making the reservation earlier in the day, I was actually asked if we wanted shade! The set up for rest rooms and showers is unique. They are single rooms, so you have plenty of privacy. This might be a problem if they are extra-booked, we never had to wait. Very well-kept. While they don't have cable, we were able to receive several national network channels with our antenna quite clearly. We would definitely like to stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA), Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This was our most expensive, and least enjoyable stay. The campground is actually west of the city and then a number of miles south of I-90 but not that quiet. While we made a reservation six weeks in advance, we were assigned a space near the office and pool, in the middle of the action, so to speak. There may be people with families who would prefer that location, but we were never asked. We had a long travel day and arrived too late to take advantage of the hot springs; for people with the time, that might increase enjoyment. We camped at Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA) in a Motorhome.
