Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

As mentioned before, stay here for the view of the lake, but be prepared to use your own RV bathroom and shower. Booked a pull-thru for a 45' MH, but arrived to find room to level an RV half the length with a slope more than 2 feet from back to front and too narrow to pull through and turn out to leave. No other sites available, so redirected to the overflow area which was nicer, not flooded, on an open grassy area, and level, with 30A and water. Host was helpful in relocating us. Without full hookups, planned on using the showers and bathroom, but found very damp floors throughout and poorly lit. Two box fans were on the floor but were ineffective and while there was a heavy rain the night before, no excuse for not having clean and dry facilities. Stable power throughout the storms the night after arrival, but rough and pothole-filled gravel interior roads were all flooded - poor drainage and infrastructure maintenance. Few options to choose from in the area, but would not return to this campground. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Port A RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate reflects monthly discounts without electricity ($0.14/kWh). Park just opened a second large heated pool and new clubhouse for the approximately 180 sites. Well managed, friendly and helpful staff, facilities are clean and maintained, great landscaping with concrete roads and pads, and some grass at each site. A bit more room at each site compared to nearly all others in Port A visited during our stay. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fins and Virginia's provided the best views for dining. Local wildlife and birding preserves a must see. Biking on the wide sidewalks and local roads - not SH361, encouraged. Loved the food and soup/sald bar at Spaghetti Works. Enjoy the great beach views and Jetty walk.
