Shavers Fork Campground, Elkins, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park. Restrooms were clean and nice children's activities. Absolutely beautiful area! As a lot of the places we have been to the game room was outdated but they had nice playground equipment and the pools were nice. They also had rive tubing that looked very fun but we hit a cold spell while we were camping so we did not get to try it. Overall this was a nice place and I would definitely go back! We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Tent Trailer.

This was a nice park. It did not have lots of kids activities, but it did have a pool and playground. We camped right in front of a stream, so our three kids had fun playing in the stream. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Heavenly Acres Campground, Stanardsville, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here because it was very close to our house and we could not find anything else available for the 4 nights we wanted to camp on short notice. This campground was nice but could use some TLC. It is ran by only 1 man! Probably one of the nicest people I have ever met! My kids fell in love with him! The playground equipment needs to be fixed or replaced because some of it is not safe. The pool was very nice except for some uneven cement around the pool that caused my daughter to get hurt within minutes of being in the pool area. They had one of the longest hayrides I have ever been on that the kids loved! The sites were very nice and shaded. Lots of trees! We will definitely return again! We camped at Heavenly Acres Campground in a Tent Trailer.
